"Pleasant resort in isolated location close to Matobos National Park. Good value cabins with central restaurant on a large rock with good views. Power was off for much of our stay but generator in the evening. Restaurant has only large two course lunch and three course dinner. Reasonable choices and not too expensive but food wasted and we were allowed to share one dinner which was plenty for two people!"

10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at Churchill Hotel in Bulawayo and were genuinely very happy with our experience. ❤️ The location was excellent for our holiday, making it easy for us to explore Bulawayo and the surrounding area. We were conveniently located for our visits to Matobo National Park, the city centre, garden centres and other places we wanted to see. The food was one of the biggest highlights of our stay. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely amazing! The meals were delicious and really added to our overall experience. The staff were also fantastic. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and the team regularly checked on us to make sure we were comfortable and happy. What stood out to us most was how involved the manager was. She personally came over to have a chat with us, asked whether we were happy and whether we had any concerns, and we even saw her helping her staff. That personal touch really made us feel valued as guests. Overall, Churchill Hotel was a wonderful base for our Zimbabwe holiday. We enjoyed the location, the food, the friendly atmosphere and the excellent hospitality. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Bulawayo. Thank you to the entire Churchill Hotel team for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. 🇿🇼❤️"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Figtree?
The best area to stay in Figtree is generally within the village centre itself, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and the main road.

Figtree is a small village, and its centre is essentially where the A6 road passes through, providing a focal point. You'll find a few local shops, a general store, and perhaps a petrol station here. It's a functional area, providing a base for exploring the wider Matabeleland South region.

For travellers looking for a convenient stopover, particularly those driving through the region, staying near the village centre is ideal.
When is the best time to go to Figtree?
The best time to visit Figtree is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. This period offers pleasant weather conditions, making it ideal for exploring the area and enjoying outdoor activities.

During these months, you'll find clear skies and comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius. The drier conditions also mean that wildlife viewing, particularly in nearby national parks, is often at its best as animals congregate around water sources.

For those looking to combine a stay in Figtree with a safari experience, the dry season is particularly good. The sparse vegetation makes it easier to spot animals, and the reduced rainfall means fewer muddy roads, making travel more straightforward.

If you prefer a greener landscape and don't mind occasional short downpours, the shoulder months of April and November can also be a good option.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Figtree.
How much is the nightly rate at a Figtree hotel?
Prices for hotels in Figtree often vary, but you can find a great deal from CA $69 on Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
