    Zimbabwe Hotel Guide

Zimbabwe is home to many wonderful sites, one of the most renowned being Victoria Falls. While this is one of the major reasons foreigners visit the region, there are many national parks and archaeological spots to think about seeing as well. The landlocked nation is bordered by Mozambique, Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa, and it's a popular stop on a multi-nation tour of the area. Whether you are planning an extended stay to explore natural scenery or you are just taking a detour to see the impressive falls, you'll discover many options as you look for reservations at the top Zimbabwe hotels in the country.

    Natural Wonder

There are many lists of natural wonders of the world, and Victoria Falls has is included on quite a few of them. David Livingstone, a Scottish missionary and explorer in Africa during the mid-1800s, is considered the first European to observe the falls. The name of the area is his tribute to Queen Victoria. The falls are also known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya in neighbouring Zambia, but the official designation on the Zimbabwe side is Victoria Falls.

If your stay in the region will be lengthy, it makes a lot of sense to search for discount Zimbabwe hotel packages that include local tours of not only the falls but also the related land and water formations. For example, the Victoria Falls Gorges provide additional sites for visitors. Devil's Pool often tempts visitors to take a daring swim. Nearby wildlife refuges also provide the chance to view local species in a natural environment.

    Highlands

Near the country's border with Mozambique, you can explore the Eastern Highlands. You'll find the highest peak in the country here along with the Nyanga National Park. World's View, a vista that provides a lengthy view on clear days, is well worth a visit. Look for great rates and Zimbabwe hotel deals that include guided tours of the area. Tourism has suffered a bit in recent years, meaning that you may be able to easily book cheap hotel deals in Zimbabwe as you explore these features.

    "Good hotel with attentive staff"
Helpful staff and good service made for a pleasant stay at A’Zambezi River Lodge. Front desk staff arranged for a large complimentary packed breakfast for us when we had to set out early in the morning. On the day of our departure, they promptly arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport after our prior arrangements fell through. The free shuttle offers easy access to the falls. Laundry was not cheap but was promptly delivered to our room the following morning. We thought the dinner buffet was overpriced at $75 for two. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at A’Zambezi.

    "Great location and great staff"
I stayed a week at the Kingdom -- longer than most tourists, I gather, who largely only come for a day or two. I can recommend the hotel for a long stay. It is a pretty place, a ten-minute walk from Victoria Falls, with a large menu of activities that can be arranged through the Adventure Connection desk -- safaris, rafting, ziplining, sunset cruises, walking with lions, you name it. I stayed busy my whole time. The staff were wonderful. I had some difficulties with my luggage, which was delayed and then got stuck at customs at the airport, so that I had to go fetch it. The staff tried to negotiate for me with the airport, then arranged for me to share someone else's airport transport, to save me some money. They gave me a complimentary spa treatment and drinks by the pool to make up for the trouble I'd had. And for the next couple of days, when I saw various staff, they would ask, "did you get your bag OK?" Made me feel well taken care of. I could easily have stayed another week.

    "Very good hotel"
Excellent service, wonderful, delicious quesadillas. Have lived in Mexico for 27 years. Terrific quesadillas, original. Pollo Loco and a bunch of Central American and Indian food of course, ditto for Chinese, and who could overlook pizza. Everything within walking disrance, some streets off to cars. Markets for tourist items which are sold even in Zanzibar, Nairobi, Uganda, etc., come from here but it takes effort to hunt them down. But once you do, there are hand-painted cloths, with my new favorite, pearl fowl. Saw the splendid avenues lined by aging Jacarandas, not in bloom but THERE.

    "Unique Experience!"
We stayed here last week-end. We loved the grounds, old castle feel. The food was way above expectations, we had not planned on eating all our meals at the hotel but found the price and quality far above what we could have received elsewhere. The staff of wonderful! Our room was nice and clean but only had a tub, no shower. The mattress was old and we found it hard to sleep with two in the bed as we kept rolling into each other.
