Find hotels in Fares from CA $70

The best area to stay in Fares is the town centre, particularly around Plaça Major and the streets leading off it.

This area is the heart of Fares, offering a good mix of local life and convenience. You'll find a variety of local shops, bakeries, and traditional restaurants clustered around the main square. The architecture is typical of a historic Catalan town, with narrow streets and stone buildings. It's very walkable and provides easy access to the local amenities.

Couples looking for a relaxed and authentic experience will find the town centre appealing. Staying here allows you to enjoy evening strolls, savour local cuisine, and experience the pace of life in a smaller Catalan town.

The best time to go to Fares is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months. These periods offer the most pleasant weather for exploring the region without the intense summer heat or the cooler, sometimes wetter, winter conditions.

During spring, the countryside around Fares is particularly beautiful, with blooming wildflowers and lush greenery. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling in the nearby Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. It's a superb time for couples looking for scenic walks and comfortable exploration.

Autumn brings similar comfortable temperatures, usually between 18°C and 28°C, and the landscape transforms with vibrant autumnal colours, especially in the forests. This season is great for food enthusiasts, as it coincides with local harvest festivals and truffle hunting experiences. Solo travellers might appreciate the slightly fewer crowds compared to peak summer, allowing for a more relaxed experience when visiting local markets and vineyards.

While July and August are popular for their hot, sunny weather (often above 30°C), they can be quite busy and less comfortable for active sightseeing.
