"This is our 2nd trip to Exeter for a University visit. On both occasions we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and both tumes we have been impressed by the friendy, helpful staff and how clean and well maintained the hotel is kept. At breakfast there is a fantastic choice of cereal, pastries, fruit. cold meats and a cooked breakfast. "

"Worst stay I have ever had. The first morning at breakfast the plates were so dirty it put us off eating. We literally went through the whole pile and could not find any clean ones. Didn't bother going to breakfast the 2nd morning. There was an odd smell on the first day when we walked into room but it was stifling hot so put the air conditioning on and left it at that. However the next evening when we returned to the room we walked in and there was a clear smell of drugs in the room which we could not get rid of by opening the window. The room below were also extremely noisy and it was quite late by this point. I went to reception and explained about the smell and the noise and she responded as though this was no surprise at all. She just said that if people are smoking even normal cigarettes on the balconies below then it does tend to come into the rooms above. She asked if we wanted to change rooms but it was late at this point and I expected them to actually deal with the situation. However they did nothing at all, not even go to speak to the room below to request they lower the noise levels. They literally take your money when you check in and don't care after that"

"We had a nice stay at the hotel and would stay again. We didn’t get chance to use any of the leisure facilities but hopefully next time we will."

"The room was beautiful and comfortable. Bed very comfy, best nights sleep in a long time. Breakfast choice exceptional, very well cooked and presented. Staff fantastic. Well done 👏 "

"Perfect for a quick stop over. Super comfy bed. Room v clean. Thank you for allocating me a quiet room too. Breakfast lovely. The only thing to improve is to ensure milk doesnt run out at the corridor drinks station (no kettle in the room). Otherwise excllent. "

"Breakfast definitely needs some improvement but the hotel overall was spot on for our stopover on the way the Cornwall. Staff were lovely and really friendly. Hotel is clean and the room was set up for our family of 4. Plenty of parking (small additional charge), great WiFi. Really good value overall and definitely recommend. "

"Facilities are absolutely amazing… great gym, sauna steam room and pool. Room was a bit tired. Food really let it down. Evening meal food wasn’t even Wetherspoons quality, but was expensive and the service was absolutely terrible. Breakfast however was great, and only waited 20 mins for poached eggs which was a bonus. Ate in the Golf Club cafe at lunchtime which was a complete disaster… not really helped by the rude food manager… DO NOT go over to eat there, unless you have 2 hours to spare and actually don’t want to eat what you ordered. We will not be back"
