The best time to visit Ernst is during the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities and exploring the Wachau Valley.

During late spring, the vineyards are lush and green, and the fruit trees, especially apricot, are in blossom, making for picturesque landscapes. Temperatures are comfortably mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 22°C, which is ideal for cycling along the Danube or visiting local wineries. This period is superb for couples looking for a romantic escape amidst beautiful scenery and fresh air.

Early autumn brings the grape harvest season, offering a great experience for food and wine enthusiasts. The weather remains mild, usually between 12°C and 18°C, and the changing colours of the leaves add to the valley's beauty. Many Heurigen (traditional wine taverns) are fully operational, providing an excellent opportunity to sample local wines and cuisine. This season is also well-suited for couples interested in culinary experiences and wine tasting tours.

While summer (July-August) can be warm and sunny, it's also the busiest time for tourism. Winter (November-April) can be cold, with some attractions and Heurigen having limited opening hours.
