"The property was flooded by the river in December. They are remaking all the gardens. The front desk people are terrible. They dont have information and are the opposite of a client service. The food is wonderful. It is an eco-hotel without running water in the toilets but that is part of the philosophy. Tryed to pay with the credit card online so I did not have to pay a surcharge, but the front desk had not updated the system so it could not be done and had to pay a surcharge."

"Wonderful hotel/hostel close to Tayrona. The private rooms have large floor to ceiling windows, and it was magical to watch the lightning and thunderstorms at night. "Very friendly, very helpful. When our driver couldn't make it to the Casa to take us to Santa Marta airport for our flight to Bogota, Marisela took us both in our car and drove the hour and 15 minutes to drop us off at the airport. Even though we don't speak much Spanish at all, her entire staff took the effort to communicate with us in English throughout our stay. The location is fantastic and you have the choice of tenting on the beach to common dorm type accomodation to a couple of rooms...

"The cabin was an excellent calming retreat listening to only the sounds of the birds and nature. The steps up to the cabins can be a bit steep (up to 30cm/ 12 inches) but assuming you are there to hike Park Tayrona it's a good warm up for the trails in the park. Breakfast and dinners were excellent and Kevin our front desk person, arranged an early breakfast so we could get to the hikes at break of dawn. Kevin also gave us a map outlining the hike options, distance of each hike and horse back...

"The staff was great... they were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful with organizing transportation, reservations, etc. The room itself was pretty standard but the view from the 2nd floor was amazing and the deck was great for enjoying an evening beer. And they cleaned the room very well each day, it was spotless even after tracking in sand and dirt. The beach was incredible and we enjoyed the lounge beds. Would definitely stay again!"

"This is a truly gorgeous spot, right on the top of a mountain. We were really sad we had only booked one night as a stop-over driving down the coast from Mayapo to Cartagena. We want to find an excuse to go back and really enjoy it! Speaking of driving, if you are arriving in your own vehicle be advised that the road up is quite steep and not paved, although there are concrete strips for your wheels most of the way. Download maps for offline use and consider getting a ride if your car isn't up for it. Hope to be back soon!!"
