"The property was flooded by the river in December. They are remaking all the gardens. The front desk people are terrible. They dont have information and are the opposite of a client service. The food is wonderful. It is an eco-hotel without running water in the toilets but that is part of the philosophy. Tryed to pay with the credit card online so I did not have to pay a surcharge, but the front desk had not updated the system so it could not be done and had to pay a surcharge."

"We had a wonderful stay at Cayena. The rooms are spotless, beds comfortable, warm showers and ac worked well. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and we loved that we could go to the beach club next door which was a bit more active or stay at our hotel which was quieter. The food at both restaurants was delicious. I would highly recommend Cayena if you’re looking to explore this area. "

"Very friendly, very helpful. When our driver couldn't make it to the Casa to take us to Santa Marta airport for our flight to Bogota, Marisela took us both in our car and drove the hour and 15 minutes to drop us off at the airport. Even though we don't speak much Spanish at all, her entire staff took the effort to communicate with us in English throughout our stay. The location is fantastic and you have the choice of tenting on the beach to common dorm type accomodation to a couple of rooms...

"The cabin was an excellent calming retreat listening to only the sounds of the birds and nature. The steps up to the cabins can be a bit steep (up to 30cm/ 12 inches) but assuming you are there to hike Park Tayrona it's a good warm up for the trails in the park. "The hotel and the rooms are very beautiful, and it’s a great place for a relaxing “beach and pool” vacation. We stayed in a villa with a private pool, which was very nice. The cleanliness was reasonable, but we had to ask several times before the room was properly cleaned. The food is average. The breakfast is quite basic and the prices are high. The same applies to most food products in the area. If you plan to cook during your stay, it’s recommended to bring groceries from the city in advance."
