"We've enjoyed our stay at the kirby. The view is breathtaking .Kitchen is fully stocked but some of the utensils have broken handles. But it wasnt a big deal. One of the upstair room have no air conditioner so it gets warm on a hot days. Overall we love the kirby and plan to come back next fall."

"Todd is a wonderful host. He is extraordinarily responsive. The house is beautifully set up. The kitchen has everything you need to make full meals you can enjoy in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the stunning valley. The house is an easy drive to Willoughby lake and Mt, Pisgah for a day of hiking. We also biked on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail and visited Hill Farmstead Brewery for spectacular beers in a lovely setting. As someone else noted, you really want to have a 4-wheel drive car to navigate the hill up to the house. The outdoor shower is an added bonus."

"My expectations were low. It’s like going to a movie you think will be a stinker and it actually turns out to be good. This place was so much fun. It’s near 200-years old and you can tell in a few places. The floors are horribly out of level. They are like a rolling hill and from max to min, I would guess 18inches. But when you realize you are staying in a hotel that four Presidents including Grant slept in, those crazy floors just make it real. It was clean, comfortable. The staff was very friendly, especially the person who checked us in. I came back to the desk and she was helping some people who appeared to have used a scam site to book and they were happy, because she was putting in effort to help them. So, set your expectations low, just so you can be pleasantly surprised."

"Outside may look dingy but service is great and room is very clean. Right near the highway. Behind is a clean local supermarket like Whole Foods. Would certainly recommend the stay."
