A significant remodel was completed in Winter 2023\. It is located on the 12th fairway in the Dalton Ranch Country Club in the beautiful Animas Valley just 10 minutes north of downtown Durango and 20 minutes south of Purgatory Ski Resort. Bed Configuration (Single level home): Master - King (TV) 2nd - Queen 3rd - Queen 4th - 2 Twins The centerpiece of Dalton Ranch is its challenging 7,040-yard championship semi-private golf course. Built along the Animas River, Dalton Ranch incorporates numerous wetlands and lakes. Trimble Hot Springs with a full spa is less than a mile and the home is within immediate access to recreational opportunities- tennis, golf, hiking, biking, swimming, downhill and cross country skiing, fly fishing, fishing, kayaking, canoeing (the list is endless really). This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years). Nicely decorated with western style. A perfect spot on the 12th fairway of a golf course with a small stream and a view of the mountains. Unfortunately the house was very dirty. Great location and beautiful views of the golf course and mountain range. The property is very comfortable and well maintained. There were only a few things that were a challenge, but they didn't ruin the trip. #1 There was no can opener in the kitchen. That's a staple in almost any kitchen in the US. #2 the dishes were not clean. The dishwasher didn't clean the dishes well at all. We had to wash dishes by hand. Some of the glasses in the cabinet were not clean and looked like they had lip gloss on the edges. Once again, we had to handwash the glasses to be able to use them. The biggest challenge we faced was the master bed. It's a king size bed, but has a huge pit in the middle. The edge are high on each side and then when you get in, you roll to the middle. Completely uncomfortable! We had to end up sleeping on a queen bed in one of the other bedrooms. My suggestions is if this is going to stay a rental, get a new mattress, so people will feel comfortable and are able to sleep. Outside of those issues, everything else was great. The most tranquil setting with views that truly looked like a painting. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio with a glass of wine taking in all the beauty. Durango is a short 15 minute drive when we wanted to venture out. There is a gourmet market, wine shop, hot springs spa, and Dalton Ranch Country Club (meals and cocktails) just a couple of minutes from the house. We will definitely stay here again! ##### Eric G. I enjoyed having my morning coffee there, and one morning a young doe was a guest. It is ideally situated between Purgatory/Haviland Lake and the town of Durango. Tons to do and see in the area. Very clean with nice kitchen. Large dining table for bigger families. Enjoyed sitting on the back patio and watching the golfers. Easy for my elderly father to get around, minimal steps to entry.
