"Lovely relaxing weekend break at the Inchyra!"
Had a great weekend break, check in/out was great and staff all super friendly. The hotel is located in nice grounds within a short drive of Falkirk and surrounding areas. Our room was on the fourth floor with sweeping countryside views. Great facilities in room - complimentary water, bathrobes, slippers. Comfortable bed. My only niggle was on Saturday night the shower turned from hot - cold constantly, that's probably peak shower time before everyone goes to dinner, so I wasn't too bothered. The gym facilities are excellent, great choice of cardio equipment, power plate, loads of weight machines and decent free weights. All cardio machines have TV etc. Didn't use the pool/spa unfortunately as ran out of time. We ate at the Steakhouse and enjoyed a lovely fillet and rump steak. Beautifully cooked, really enjoyed it. Service was friendly and efficient. We didn't receive a check back on the steaks, which was slightly irking - when paying £25 for a steak it would have been nice to have been asked if it was ok. However they were very good so we had nothing to complain about. Breakfast the next day was excellent, wide choice of fruit, cereal, juice, cheese, pastries etc. I will definately be returning!

"Pleasant Surprise"
We stayed at the Helix for one night after dropping our son at university. When we first pulled up we were a little daunted as it is in the middle of a housing estate and looks a bit plain from the outside. This really is a case of don't judge a book by its cover though as once inside you're greeted by a lovely warm, nicely decorated reception. The lady who checked us in was a delight and so helpful. The room was clean, bright and a decent size. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Our only small niggle was that there was no blind up the bathroom window, that however is purely personal preference. We would definitely stay there again.

"wonderful find in Grangemouth"
We booked this place sight unseen around 7pm through Expedia and were very happy to find a clean, roomy space with everything working and in great condition. We had a hard time getting the card key to work and so the lovely desk attendant came over in person (different building) to ensure that we could master the entrance! Quiet night, even though there was a wedding reception next door. Beds were comfortable, bathroom new and lovely. Breakfast buffet was ample, hot and delicious. Tea server made sure we had everything we needed. Check out was a breeze

Airth Castle Hotel & Spa

Airth, Falkirk - Map
"Accessible hotel, amazing features, a little faded"
The hotel is conveniently located for the motorway network, and well signposted. Airth Castle is an stunning feature to have in the grounds and is well presented. The car park and main hotel is a short distance further down the drive. The reception was clean and bright, and receptionist's polite, efficient and cheerful. In fact the same could be said for every member of staff we encountered, and there were plenty on duty to attend promptly to every need. The signage within the hotel was clear, and we were very quickly able to find our bearings. The room itself was clean, but the bathroom and furnishings were a little tired, the 2 easy chairs in particular had both seen better days, both stained and one even had a wonky leg. Similarly the bar/dining room area was dated and in some need of refurbishment. Room service was prompt, and the buffet breakfast offered a good range of options and was plentiful. Overall the food was good and the restaurant well managed. Though it was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, in addition to the stunning location, that made our stay so memorable. On this basis we would recommend the hotel.

Richmond Park Hotel

26 Linlithgow Road, Bo'ness - Map
We were in Edinburgh and Bo'ness for two dog shows and found this hotel to be perfectly placed for both. The room we had was ideal as it was directly off the car park. The room was large and well equipped, except for the lack of a hairdryer. Just a couple of problems with the bathroom, the sink was cracked and the shower fell to pieces when adjusting the height, otherwise would have scored higher. The hotel pub/restaurant, No 26, was very nice. The food was excellent and reasonable priced, as were the drinks. The staff were all friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay again.

Hillhead Farm Lets

Pirnhall Road, Stirling - Map
"Overall good value for money"
This is self-contained rooms (bedroom and bathroom) in a separate building from the proprietors' home. Very clean room; adequate storage space for a short stay (we stayed 2 nights), good price, but a little basic - for example only one pillow each was provided (although it's possible more would have been provided had we requested them - we didn't); complimentary tea/coffee was slightly un-generous (there were 3 of us sharing and only 4 tea-bags and 4 UHT Milk pots provided (but replenished next day)). On the positive side, the location is good - close to the attractions we wanted to visit (Falkirk Wheel, Kelpies, Stirling Castle etc) and the beds were extremely comfortable. A minor issue with the shower was looked into and fixed immediately which was excellent. There was a heater in both the bedroom and bathroom which we could use if required. The proprietors were on-site but onobtrusive and parking was good. We had our own 'front door key' so could come and go as we pleased. Would stay here again if visiting the area. We found the wi-fi a pain - good reception, but every time we clicked on a link, we were asked to set up a BT internet account, and needed to close the internet and start again in order to leave that page. We didn't use it enough to complain, so the issue may have been addressed by now if anyone else has reported it to the proprietors.

"Lovely B & B very close to the Bannockburn Centre"
We enjoyed our one night stay. Our hostess was most helpful in recommending a good place to eat nearby and offering us a better room than the one we had booked. The breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay there again.
