Enjoy a cozy outdoor firepit, private deck with breathtaking views, and a fully stocked kitchen for home-cooked meals. Additional amenities include high-speed wifi, and an outdoor dining area on the deck. We require 4 wheel drive and chains in the winter. We highly recommend an SUV or higher clearance vehicle for the remainder of the year as the roads to the cabin and in the village are not paved and uneven. ✓ There is no AC. We open windows and the locking screen “storm” doors at night to allow the cool mountain air in. Temperatures in the summer are generally in the high 40’s-50’s at night. Daytime temperatures are rarely above 85 degrees. We have ceilings fans in each bedroom and portable fans. We only use our ceiling fans as it is in the 60’s inside the cabin at night. If you’re looking to unwind in nature, be close to all the area has to offer, and have the utmost privacy, you’ve come to the right spot. Here’s a bit of an overview of what to expect: • 2 well-appointed bedrooms: ⎯▹ Bedroom 1: 1 King bed ⎯▹ Bedroom 2: 1 King bed • Fresh bedding + towels provided • 1 full bathroom (tub/shower combo) • Fully equipped kitchen • Coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, blender, crockpot, waffle maker • Washer + dryer in garage (under cabin) • Wood-burning stove (wood provided) • Garage for ATV/bike storage Experience Overview ~ • High-speed wifi • Stunning mountain and Duck Creek Village views • 65” Smart HDTV + DISH satellite • Board games + puzzles • Direct access to nature trails • Private deck with outdoor seating • New ( Aug 2025) Blackstone flat top griddle/grill + outdoor dining area (not accessible during winter months). We have two tanks but we don’t guarantee they will be full. They can be exchanged or refilled at True Value or Loose Wheels gas station in the village (2 miles from our cabin). Our cabin was built in 1981 — it’s not perfect, and we don’t claim it is. But it’s our little slice of heaven, and we do our best to share it with others in an honest, welcoming, and thoughtful way. We are directly above the Duck Creek Community Church (on the mountain), so you will hear the beautiful church bells throughout the day. Jul 20, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy #### Misleading Description Overall we didn't enjoy our stay. Although the area is beautiful and the cabin was charming, the mattresses were very hard. Most of windows were bolted shut so it was warm at night so we didn't sleep the first 2 nights. We left early Customer service was poor and took the attitude "Well everyone has their preferences with mattresses." They Did not care was that we weren't happy and therefore condescending. We left early and did not stay on the 3rd night. This listing words the description that you will get a cool breeze. Ther was no cool breeze because most of the windows were bolted shut. And they were screened windows. I doubt I'll be compensated for any kind of these issues as they have made no effort to do so.Also, only two of burners on the grill on the patio do not work. ##### Nancy L. May 19, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### great retreat The cabin was exactly what I expected. If not better there was two of us totally enough room for four. I chose it because it was right in the middle of Bryce and Zion. If you don’t mind driving a little bit, it worked out pretty good. There are some really cool little hikes just in the immediate area as well and deck Creek is a nice spot to throw a little flyfishing in. We did not ATV, but there are a ton of trails around there and some rentals that you can get out and have some fun. ##### thomas p. Stayed 4 nights in May 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Ann V. The kitchen is well-appointed, the beds are comfortable and satellite TV and solid WiFi gave us all of the comforts of home. The deck with a beautiful view of the valley and mountains was great for relaxed meals and the firepit gave the place just the right "camping" touch. With easy access to nearby national parks and plenty of trails to hike, it was easy to fill our days with pleasant recreation. Special thanks to the owner for clueing us in on the Duck Creek Village Independence Day Parade. It was a fun diversion during our stay. ##### Kevin C. Located between Bryce and Zion, the hour trip to both seems short when you take in the beauty of the landscape and wildlife you'll see on the way. Also a short 35 min drive up mammoth creek road is Panguitch Lake, where there is usually some very good trout fishing. This cabin has all the comforts of home and Jennifer has done an exceptional job in giving it a cozy and warm feel, even at nearly 9000 ft. We live in southern California, so the mountain air and cool, clean tap water is a real treat to the senses.Loved this place! ##### Rick E. We saw quite a few different types of birds at the feeders on the deck, including baby birds that would chirp for food every time mama bird entered the birdhouse. We appreciated that they had a Utah bird book to identify the birds we saw. We had plenty of room for our side by side & dirt bike and it was nice to be able to park them in the garage while we took a day to visit Bryce Canyon (hour away & worth it!). It was a ton of fun hiking & riding around the nearby trails. The cabin had everything we needed and was plenty of space for us & our college age kids. ##### Tamara R. It was well-supplied with everything needed, including bird seed for the feeders and firewood for inside and out. Very comfortable. Housekeeping missed a few places, but nothing big. I may be old-fashioned, but to me, hosting includes doing the laundry. This is the first time, of many VRBO and AirB&B stays, that we have been asked to wash the towels. ##### Geralynne C. We have used VRBO rentals for the past 6 or 7 years and this is by far my favorite. The cabin was stocked with every essential for our 5 night stay. Jennifer’s detailed directions to access the cabin were wonderful especially considering my vehicle a Buick Enclave, it was easier to access through the longer route. The beds were comfortable, bathroom very clean, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. Our toddler was able to run around and have all the space he needed and still feel very cozy and comfortable. The location of the cabin was perfect for visiting multiple national parks, multiple lakes, streams, riding trails, anything you could think of. We even made the drive to Vegas for a day and back to the cabin by nightfall. I would recommend this place to stay for anyone, and we would stay again for sure. ##### Samantha J. Couldn’t have picked a better cabin! Has everything you would need and more, very practical, even in 4 feet of snow. We had an awesome time playing with the kids in the snow and pictures to last a life time. When it was snowing too hard or too cold, they had a plethora of games to play inside. They had firewood stacked up and the driveway got plowed. Much appreciated, thank you! ##### Jason K. Stayed 3 nights in Nov 2019 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Alexander B. When texted with a question, the host was responsive. The location is fairly quiet and good for bird watching. It is centrally located to be able to visit many of the parks. A 4-wheel vehicle is a must on the hilly dirt roads to reach the cabin. Once you book, the host will send detailed written directions to reach the cabin, you must follow them, do not follow GPS! (Jennifer, if you would include a map it would be helpful). Thorough and extensive instructions are included for everything you will need to do in the cabin, tv, heating, fireplace, laundry, etc… ##### Alexander B. It was perfect for the two of us. Bed was very comfortable. Views are awesome. Kitchen had everything you need and more. Very well stocked. (Just need the pantry to have available shelves for what guests bring.) The older green couch is tough on our 70 yr old backs is our only criticism. The sofabed and single chairs were very comfortable. Lots of "How to" signs throughout the cabin. The wildlife and bird feeders were great for bird watching. The garage to store our UTV was great to have. Especially on the rainy nights. Great location to the village. Overall, just a great experience. Jennifer, owner, was very responsive and arrival was a breeze. Thank you Jennifer. ##### Kent K. Stayed 7 nights in Aug 2022 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Shanna S. So much snow! The cabin is easy to get to with 4WD - definitely need it with how much snow Duck Creek had when we went. We saw a few 2wd cars stuck and sliding, some with chains too. Experienced winter driving is a must with this much snow. The cabin is located near the end of a quiet street, which made for a really nice peaceful trip. The back of the cabin and deck have a gorgeous view. We had to shovel snow off the deck to get to the bbq and bird feeders but that was no issue to us at all. Definitely a great place for bird watchers. Well stocked kitchen - had everything we needed and more. Beds were comfortable, cabin temp was perfect after getting heaters and wood burning stove going. We never used the TV to watch movies or anything but we took advantage of the well stocked game cabinet which was a nice touch. Owners easy to communicate with and super nice. We would definitely stay here again in any season. ##### Shanna S. Stayed 4 nights in Mar 2023 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Danielle L. Nov 7, 2018 #### A Truly Wonderful Cabin and Town In my 2017 review of the cabin a year ago, I said, “we’d be back” and we did indeed come back. The second time around was even sweeter than the first since we are now familiar with the cabin and the town of Duck Creek. We truly felt like we had returned home. Everything was just as perfect as the last time. Clean, inviting, warm, everything we could possibly need with all the comforts of home. The weather was a little cooler this time around but coming from Phoenix, cooler weather and a little bit of snow felt great to us. Besides, we had plenty of firewood to keep us warm. Of course the cabin has central heating and all the modern bells and whistles but we like that country feel and here you can have both. The cabin is in a great location with many wonderful places to visit all around Southern Utah. We visited some of our favorite places, Bryce, Zion, I/G Winery in Cedar City but also ventured out to some new. The petroglyphs in Parowan Gap were awesome, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is a must and we even headed up to Brian Head. Thank you again Jennifer for being the gracious host that you are. See you again in 2019! ##### Danielle L. Stayed 5 nights in Oct 2018 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Brad S. Apr 18, 2017 #### Very Nicely Appointed As a frequent renter, it is always a nice surprise to find a unit that has higher quality amenities, especially in the kitchen as we do like to cook. I knew this was such a place the minute I saw the Henkels chef's knife! Nearly new T-Fal cookware, a full selection of high quality utensils, and very nice silverware are all well above what is often standard equipment in a rental. The towels, linens, and furniture were also above spec, and combined to make this a nicer-than-normal stay for our family of 4. Often, one gets the sense that the nice things are kept locked up for the owners, and thrift store cast-offs used for the renters; that is not the case here. We used this a base of exploration for Bryce and Zion canyons, each about an hours drive away. There was still quite a bit of snow at this elevation in mid-April, but the dirt roads up to the cabin were perfectly passable in a normal passenger car, and the parking area was cleared of snow. The size of the cabin was ideal for the 4 of us, with our two boys finding plenty of things to explore outside. In summary, this was as-advertised, appointed above-average, and we would stay again if our travels bring us back to this area. ##### Brad S.
