Great place for a team building retreat

Fun outside Estes Park
This was a great property...we chose it for the fishing in the backyard! My husband caught a large trout and it made his weekend! We were not aware others could fish that part of the Thompson... but the guide said they had an arrangement with the owners? The house was very clean and nicely decorated. It would be great to add doors on the bunk bed rooms someday. It had a lot of necessities already there for our use. We had a great visit. Thank you!

Labor Day Reunion
We had a great time and the grandkids really enjoyed the place. Lots of room to run inside, outside was pretty close to the road and water but we adapted. Had a few issues with some doors not latching completely. They just need a little adjusting. Had curtins on some of the windows but could have had a few more. No big problems and we had a lot of fun.

Nice spot - hosts were great
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here quite a bit. There was definitely a hiccup on arrival and check in, but the host was kind and flexible to make it work for us, which is why I would definitely give 5 stars. The one feedback point I'd provide is that the house was advertised as 6 bedrooms, but one of the stated bedrooms is just on the side of the kitchen with no door between kitchen and the room, and another bedroom was just the loft where there were games, so I would be aware of that because if every couple would need privacy, this doesn't necessarily provide that for those 2 rooms. Thanks for the stay!

Things to know before your stay
The place is great, big and beautiful, clean and well stocked with things you would need and a good location. Held all of us perfectly and it's close to Estes Park. There are a few things to know about the location. I was told there is a grill but it's not a traditional grill but a flat top, great to clean just not the best to cook steaks. Also random people kept showing up thinking it was a bar. There is a sign on the front that says Canyon Spirits which I guess gave people that idea but very scary having some random people pulling in and trying to coming inside. Also people were pulling off the road and walking the river and fishing in front of the house. Dumpster was full to the brim with trash, rulebook says it's picked up every Tuesday, we checked in on a Friday so don't think it had been picked up for a few weeks. Had to smash the last bags in there. Most of the window screens are torn and ripped so the house was FULL of nats being right by the river. They had night lights with sticky pads but were literally full the first night. Might ask manager for more if you stay. Also they said wood was provided for outside fire pit but it was old construction 2x4's. Finally the check-in time is 3pm and checkout is 10:30am. An early check-in or extended checkout seems to be completely forbidden which seems silly. I would think property managers could offer something if it worked out, they just said not allowed. All in all a good place to stay, especially with a large group.

Beautiful setting, functional, but needs a few improvements
Set on a winding road between Estes Park and Drake that follows beside a river, this house is great for a large family. The sound of the river provides a nice white noise. Lots of beds throughout. Well equipped including some games for the kids. We also liked the large dining room table by the kitchen. There are a few issues that could be addressed by the owner. - surprisingly, there are no blinds! This is an issue due to privacy in your bedrooms and it gets very bright in the morning. - the grill (flattop) was unusable. It was rusted and the clean out drawer was nasty. A message to the property manager was never replied to. - the internet was worthless the first couple of days. They did come out and address that promptly by hooking up the satellite internet. It was obvious that they knew this would be an issue so it wasn’t clear why it wasn’t hooked up before we arrived. We appreciated that they did come out after asking them about it. Overall, if you’re not bothered by the bright mornings and privacy issue if no blinds, this would be a good consideration.
