Staff was quite friendly, room was incredibly comfortable and the location can't be beat. I would stay here again. Negatives include the room being pretty dusty and the AC unit was incredibly loud and prevented a perfect sleep.
This best western is clean, comfortable and a perfect location in downtown Madison. It 'feels' a bit old, but I think the antique gold gates, which are part of the old capital building, make it feel that way. But it is a historical hotel which is great!
Nestled between the shores of Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, downtown Madison is home to the State Street pedestrian mall, which consists of hundreds of shops, restaurants, and galleries. Family-friendly attractions include Henry Vilas Zoo and Madison Children's Museum. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the 1200-acre arboretum at University of Wisconsin, or visit the nearby Cave of the Mounds.
