A newer hotel close to the Capital Building. The room I had was very large, clean and quite. The hotel does charge for parking. Breakfast is included - Fruit, yogurt, beagles, cereal and eggs etc.
There are multiple restaurant choices within walking distance.
The front desk staff was very friendly. The internet was not connecting to my devices when I arrived. Alex called the support staff and reset the hotel router to fix the problem.
We have stayed at the hotel many time while visiting our daughter at UW. It's perfect for that. Close to campus and State Street. Comfortable. Plenty nice. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's just thing for a visit to Madtown.

Great location and proximity to UW and Camp Randall. Short walk down the road to the stadium or shuttle if needed. Great neighborhood restaurants within easy walking distance. Check out Olivers for a great dining experience less than a block away. Sushi across the street and a great Martini bar down the road with above average bar food.
LOVED the Highland Club after the game, however heard they might be converting that area with the reconstruction. Awesome amenity and bar area, well received with the room rate which was a bit pricey but worthwhile for the experience and game day weekend. Kevin made the experience enjoyable and was very personable. Truly one of the best weekends we have spent while attending a Badger game and the entire experience here. We get around and this was truly one of our best weekend events in memory.
I don't ever offer reviews but since our stay was so fantastic, thought I would offer this one worthy of a recommendation.

The hotel itself was so nice and clean, bed was so cozy, towels were SO SOFT and thick. I can't get over the towels. I need them at home. They had the cutest sign in the entrance welcoming all the 4 legged dogs with a dish of treats, so cute! The staff was amazing, so nice! The only downside was parking. We didn't want to have to valet because it was more expensive so we parked ourself and the spots were so tight it took forever to get in them (yeah I'm a woman driver blah blah whatever) so we left to go see the Joe Rogan show at the orpheum and when we got back the ramp was full even though we paid for 24 hour parking so that was a bummer however the valet guy took our car and valeted it and comped the price which was super nice! I'd definitely recommend this place! (On a side note, if they didn't have so many "Madison Club" reserved parking spots they'd probably have enough for actual guests!)
My girlfriends and I had a wonderful stay and experience at Hotel Red. It was clean and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We loved the option of using their shuttle service, and used it one day to shop on State Street. We would definitely stay there again next time we are in Madison!
Lobby had a coffee shop, friendly staff, comfortable feel. Passed my expectations.
I loved the nostalgic feel in the lobby and rooms. The lobby couches and sitting areas were excellent. The lobby coffee shop was excellent and the top floor bar had plenty of seating and nice views.
Many shops, bars and restaurants in the area. The lake is a block away.

The most stunning thing about this B&B is the amazing view. The breakfast was also outstanding and consisted of organic tea, cereal, oatmeal, fresh pastries, almond milk or regular, coffee, half & half. The bathroom was updated though kept many remnants of a historic feel. I liked everything about our experience other than the pillow and the lighting wasn't strong enough for applying makeup. The mattress was a Temperpedic and you could tell there was thought put into comfort and relaxation. It was a very nice stay, located just a 15 minute walk away from the center of downtown. I would certainly stay again for the beautiful romantic atmosphere.
Nestled between the shores of Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, downtown Madison is home to the State Street pedestrian mall, which consists of hundreds of shops, restaurants, and galleries. Family-friendly attractions include Henry Vilas Zoo and Madison Children's Museum. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the 1200-acre arboretum at University of Wisconsin, or visit the nearby Cave of the Mounds.
