Douglas Trail Tours and Activities

Check in was delayed. Staff charged two room holds on my card. Staff member stopped helping me on check in to help a person who budged and asked about a room safe. Was it because I was in a wheelchair? The Hotel restaurant staff were excellent. The New York Strip from Ruth Chris was really salty and lots of gristle. I found that very disappointing. The location was great but they gave a wheelchair user a bathroom where I had to step over the tub to access the shower. They knew in advance. Someone hit my car in the Kahler Ramp, and the $26 charge for Rochester seemed steep for one day, though I have paid $60 a day in Chicago. It's Chicago though! Of course the Mayo Staff were amazing. Lastly doors did not have handicapped buttons to open doors. Talk about struggling.

The hotel was very nice and convenient for travel to the Mayo Clinic with direct access to the underground walk way. The room was clean and nice to have the continental breakfast option. Construction was taking place outside of the hotel to improve the Mayo Clinic buildings in the area. The windows seemed to be rather low on their sound proofing ability. Almost seemed like the windows were open at times.
