The Campground and the hotel are the only two places you can legally watch the sunrise come up over Monument Valley. The valley road is closed to non-residents during the night. If you go to campground it is first come first serve, starting at noon. I would recommend going early and grabbing one of the prime spots. You will have an amazing view from your tent of the mittens coming up.
