"Dated hotel in good location, lacking in service"
The location is nice (right by the beach which is public (i.e. accessible to local people from outside the hotel as well but that's no bother) and rather nice). The rooms vary from good (esp. beach facing newer chalets) over mediocre (other units with the - unfortunately - only too typical Ghanaian quality-in-detail issues (e.g. our shower enclosure was about to topple down and didn't allow closing the door - which apparently wasn't seen as an issue by hotel management) to truly bad (some of our group stayed in truly old rooms with horrible carpet, a shared hallway and entrance with another room, and duvets that were fraying, dusty, and absolutely unacceptable for a hotel charging such prices (though the last point got corrected after complaining). All in all some members of our party had to move rooms three times in four days after complaining about the quality of the first rooms. That's typical of the overall service we received. The restaurant staff were friendly and their service okay. Cleaning staff mostly as well - apart from the room not being cleaned until after 17:30 one day!. The beach/pool staff sometimes couldn't be asked to arrange the beach chairs/loungers - which is their job. Similar experiences with the reception staff. Overall pretty disappointing service (for the price) which is unacceptable for a hotel of this size and (attempted) class.
