We used to drive over the "Blue Bridge" a few times a week as a kid on our way to see my Nan. It's has Grade 2 listed status, originally a double leaf rolling bridge but now a permanent road bridge over the River Dee. Photo taken from the North bank along the North Wales cycle path. You can also see Jupiter rising in the East! After this shot I decided to run onto the "beach" for a more travel-like selfie, but it's not sand... It's pure soft, sinking, stinking silt. I immediately decked it and covered myself in reeking silt and just about managed to get back up. Then only a few minutes later the tidal surge rushed through - counting myself very lucky! Nice and warm, squirrels outside the windows. Hot tub is just a hot tub - not one with bubbles! so don't look for a button to press lol Very peaceful. If you go with kids (i went with teenager) then maybe take a laptop to watch netflix etc on. wifi connection great. Don't wear sliders on your feet when trying to do the fire or else you will slip on the mud which is hilarious to a teenager btw. The bathroom paint was peeling off the walls. The bed was a small queen bed that wasn't big enough for 2 adults to get a good night sleep. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Due to this we left the property early and had to book a hotel. I also tried to contact the property as advised by Sykes cottages, but my calls were unanswered and not returned. Overall a disappointing stay.
