"A friend and I stayed at the blue Nile resort hotel, which has a stunning setting and views on the waters edge of lake Tana. It was a perfect spot to start our tour of lake Tana and Islands. The staff were helpful and it the buffet breakfast had a good selection. However the twin room was very small which had not been apparent in the photos online as I had thought it was a twin room with double beds not singles and there was no hot water."

"The room was amazing for the price... it had amenities I didn't think came with this category of hotel, like a mini-fridge with bottles of water. The ceiling was high and solid and the floor was thick, so the only noise issues came from the hallway and those didn't occur late at night. The breakfast was more varied than I expected, and was included with the room. The hotel is just a couple of minutes away from the airport, and the complimentary shuttle is included, so perfect for an early morning flight. The staff is delightful (although I found that true in much of Ethiopia). A great value."

"My experience at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel was genuinely outstanding. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome with warm, attentive service that never felt forced. The lobby itself sets the tone—spacious, elegant, and full of natural light. The rooms were spotless, modern, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made the stay feel elevated. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the quality of the bedding; it made it easy to rest after long days. Breakfast was a highlight. The buffet had an impressive range of local and international options, all fresh and beautifully presented. The dining staff managed to be both efficient and friendly, which made mornings feel relaxed rather than rushed. The amenities—including the fitness center, pool, and multiple dining options—were all top-notch. The hotel’s proximity to the airport was also incredibly convenient without sacrificing comfort or atmosphere. Overall, the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Addis Ababa, whether for business or leisure."
