    Cambodia Hotel Guide

Cambodia has earned its place on the Southeast Asian tourist trail thanks to its stunning temples, white-sand beaches, forest-laden hills, lush jungles, laid-back offshore islands, and lively capital. The intoxicating present is wrapped up in a vibrant culture and incredible landscape waiting to be discovered by adventurous travellers.

Today's Cambodia was born of the mighty Khmer empire that once ruled over what are modern Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Remnants of the fabled empire can still be seen at the temples of Angkor. The most iconic temple in the country, Angkor Wat, astounds with its fusion of spiritual devotion and creative innovation, and its symmetry, size, and scale are awe-inspiring. Many Cambodia hotels are located close to this slice of heaven on earth; the heart and soul of the country.

Many visitors come to Cambodia for the temples, but fall in love with the cities and villages. The capital of Phnom Penh is a feast for the senses. From the banks of the Mekong River, the city is an undiscovered gem where crowded markets sell fresh fruits and religious icons, museums highlight the country's fascinating history, and the air of the many monasteries is thick with the aroma of incense.

Some of the best cheap hotel deals in Cambodia can be found in Phnom Penh. Book rooms in the Boeng Kak neighbourhood to mingle with backpackers and expats, find Cambodia hotel deals near Samdech Sothearos Boulevard to be close to major sights like the Royal Palace, National Assembly and Silver Pagoda, or look for Cambodia hotel packages near the riverfront to experience the chicest part of the city.

To experience the timeless landscapes of rice paddies and enjoy the rhythm of rural life, look for a cheap Cambodia hotel deal on the tropical south coast or near the Cardamom Mountains where exotic wildlife thrives and eco-tourism reigns. The astonishingly beautiful mountain range is home to Asian elephants, tigers, pangolins, Siamese crocodiles, and other threatened species. Trekking through the thick jungle is one of the most special experiences in Cambodia.

    When to Go

It is always warm in Cambodia, but the temperatures become stifling in April and May, and June and July are often marked by heavy rains. One of the best times to book hotels in Cambodia is during the cool season in September and October when both the heat and rain dissipate. Make reservations early at the top hotels to get the lowest rates during this season, or visit during the wet season to get special discount prices on rooms. Even during the rainiest parts of the year, it usually only rains for a few hours in the afternoon or evenings, leaving you plenty of time to explore the country.

The rooms are newly remodeled and very nice. It is not on the river but the advantage is it is not as noisy either. The pools is nice and I bought the upgraded room with a balcony for 58 dollars US.

    "Great hotel for exploration"
The staff at this hotel can not be more helpful. They are attentive and committed to giving their guests an excellent service. The hotel is perfectly placed for all the attractions, the royal palace was across the street, the national museum also. A trip to the killing fields took around 25 minutes and cost $15 and was a great way to see the country side. A perfect hotel for a good price.

    "Could be a lot better"
We booked this hotel because of the beach and to be honest there are not many options We were upgraded to the water villas which are very nice but they definitely need a lot of maintenance! The water around is only mud, horrible smell full of mosquitoes and to be honest simply disgusting. The villas are ok but not worth the price They really need to put some effort to make them nicer not only the villas but all their surroundings even the streets The rest of the hotel is very nice. Friendly staff but they need to speak more english. Food was very good but overall to be a 5 star hotel they need a lot of improvement! Anyway I will recommend this hotel

    "So fabulous!"
The hotel (we stayed at the Club) was so much more fabulous than we expected. The design was amazing. The staff were beyond amazing. The flower arrangements were amazing. And so was the swimming pool. The location was convenient and just across the street were a couple of really terrific galleries. Highly recommended!! John from Miami Beach.

Everything about this hotel was great with the exception of the walls were very thin. I could hear my neighbors as if they were in my room... even when they walked in their slippers.

    "Love it! Great pool!"
Great hotel! I'd ask for a pool view room next time. Pool was big with lots of sun and ample shade...really comes in handy after a day of temple touring in the blazing sun! Swim up bar and jacuzzi were nice bonuses! AC was great, powerful shower, bathroom also has tub. I love hotels with robes and slippers! Breakfast is great..good selection! Staff is very helpful! (Khamera (sp?) at front desk is great...fluent in English). Location is part is the hotel has its own generator so when there's a blackout in the town we didn't have any issues (that's a big deal..we stayed in a hotel before this one where the power went off all Ac and no wifi are tough when it's 100 degrees) Hotel spa was great as well...Nice oasis. The gym has a akward set has a few pieces of equipment right at the spa reception. Food was delish too!! I'd recommend!
