Le jardin est magnifique aussi, se réveiller tout les matins dans cet univers a été un pur plaisir. La petite piscine est super sympa pour se détendre, la bibliothèque est une bonne idée et nous a ravi aussi, tout est bien pensé. Last year we set out most days we set our to explore Guadeloupe. This year, it was much easier. We made breakfast every morning in our little kitchen, shared our bread with the birds. Then headed down to the beach at Grand Anse for sun, surf, lunch, more swimming. Then back to the bungalow, dip in the pool, ti punch, nap, dinner in Deshaies. Every day was the same. Every night, the wind blew thru our bedroom, lulling us to sleep. We live a rustic life style on our island, we were 1500 miles away and felt right at home. It was the most relaxing vacation ever. Valerie and Matthieu are gracious hosts whether making a dinner reservation or sending you to their favorite beach. We have a very specific set of desires and needs when we travel: 1.) a fantastic view and 2.) accommodations that are like a home, i.e. a separate sleeping area, a functional kitchen and hosts that are like friendly concerned neighbors. We had all of these at Bungalows Piton. Valérie and Matthieu were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The view from our Bungalow #3 was a wide open vista of the sea and nearby hills. As a bonus, my wife and I are fanatical dog lovers, and we were adopted by a neighbor's dog, Ti Chou. If we could have snuck her on the plane home, it might have happened. The bungalows are up in the hills, and are blessed with cooling trade winds. She gave us espresso and naked on a map all of the places corresponding to what we wanted to do. Hiking, snorkeling (gsve us fins + masks). Having a washer/dryer onsite and a beautiful pool are added bonuses. The hiking and beaches are amazing. The outdoor kitchen was wonderful to cook and hang out on the deck. There is even a hammock.
