"The property itself and the position looking over the lake was magical, especially with the floor to ceiling windows in the living area. The only complaint is that inside it does need a deep clean throughout…but we will definitely be back. "

May have been our fault but we were there to fish for trout and found it hard to get info - wish we had been advised to hire a boat on day one. Maybe a few brochures etc could be provided. Really enjoyed the warmth of the property and the peace and quiet."

Good concept, execution leaves much to be desired

"Basic things that were neglected or done poorly 1) no pre check in email was received resulting in us being stuck outside the property as we were not informed of the access code to gain entry into the property. Imagine being caught in a situation when you had 4 cars backed up behind you and you couldn’t get in - enough said 2) no air conditioning in the rooms and the windows can’t be open. Rooms are hot, stuffy and poorly ventilated- would have been helpful to have that piece on information on their website so that we could have made a better informed decision in terms of booking 3) their complimentary larder - is really complimentary - the items provided eg meats, soft cheese, dips etc all were close to their expiry dates eg 3 days away ie it would have had to be thrown out anyway if it was not eaten. Truly complimentary indeed. Clearly some cost savings here by management 4) Wi-Fi password was not readily available - had to call reception to gain access 5) their honesty bar leaves much to be desired. When I checked out, I found out that they had billed me for 2 bottles of sparkling water which we had not taken from the bar but probably written down by another guest who got the rooms number wrong Things done well 1) the property is really lovely with great views 2) the on site service is actually quite good Overall we won’t stay again because of point 1-4. Wasn’t worth the price paid "

"The rural sheep farm offered quiet, a modern cabin, excellent food dinner, a wonderful farm tour that included wallabies, echidnas, a sheepdog herding demonstration, and an up-close sheep shearing demonstration. The owner is gracious and informative in several languages. We spent 2 nights enjoying comfortable beds and the calls of many interesting birds and animals. Nearby we can also recommend the gin distillery tasting and hiking the 3 waterfalls at Mt. Field national park. "
