Perched at the top of Terry Peak, this cozy cabin is perfect for relaxing and exploring the Black Hills. Unwind in front of the gas fireplace or enjoy a meal in the open kitchen/living/dining area with seating for 8. With a fully stocked kitchen, Xbox One games, and dartboard in the lower level family/game room, you'll find plenty to keep you entertained.

Walk to the slopes! Gold Claim Lodge is your home away from home on Terry Peak!

This newly remodeled, cozy cabin is located on a beautiful, quiet property at the top of Terry Peak. Our family is originally from the Black Hills, so this area has always been a second home to us. We welcome you to come and relax, play, and explore the abundance of activities the Black Hills has to offer! We are more than happy to offer suggestions for activities/restaurants, etc, as we've "been there, done that" with almost everything in the area!

FEATURES 3 BEDROOMS, PLUS A NEW QUEEN SOFA SLEEPER.
*Bedroom 1 - main floor, Queen bed, TV
*Bedrooms 2 & 3 - lower level, queen beds in each
*Lower Level Family Room has a brand new memory foam queen bed that pulls out from the sectional couch
-Bedding & pillows provided, clocks with usb charging ports

BATHROOMS:
*Main floor: Full bath
*Lower Level: 3/4 bath
*Towels, hand soap, toilet paper and kleenex provided

Open KITCHEN/LIVING/DINING area on main floor.
*Dining table seats 8, with 2 additional spots at the kitchen island.
*Kitchen is very well stocked with all of the dishes/cookware you need! Keurig coffee pot, crock pot, griddle, electric frying pan, toaster, pots/pans, bakeware, etc. Renters are responsible for food items.
*Living room features 55 inch TV, gas fireplace, DVD player and numerous DVDs.

LOWER LEVEL FAMILY/GAME ROOM
*Features sectional couch (with queen memory foam pullout bed), 55 inch TV, dvd player & dvds, Xbox One & games, pub table, dartboard, numerous board games.

WINTER MONTHS:
You can literally walk from the property to the Terry Peak ski slopes! (Walk is less than a quarter mile) Close access to snowmobile/cross country ski trails.

SPRING/SUMMER/FALL MONTHS:
Mickelson Trailhead is just minutes from the cabin, as is the beautiful Spearfish Canyon with it's stunning waterfalls. Overall, great central location with access to all the Black Hills has to offer!

IN THE AREA:
-Barefoot Lodge (which is next to the ski slopes just before you enter the housing development) has a small convenience store where you can purchase beverages, snacks, frozen pizza, etc.
-The nearest grocery store and gas station are in Lead, which is less than a 10 minute drive.
-Deadwood - 15 minutes (gambling, restaurants, entertainment)
-Spearfish - 25 minutes (nearest Wal-Mart, lots of restaurants, shopping, waterpark, etc)
-Sturgis - 30 minutes
-All of the attractions in the Black Hills are easily accessible to get to and from for a day's outing.

PARKING: Driveway can accommodate 3-5 vehicles, depending on size.

Beautiful view

This was a nice place to stay. Our family enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Sat by the fire and used the grill to make a yummy dinner. It was a very enjoyable stay.

Best Family Gathering Spot

The owner was like family by the time we finished our stay. She kept in contact with us until we checked in and immediately thanked us for staying. This was the best place we have taken family. So clean,organized, and well stocked with utensils. If you love family game time I believe every game invented must be in the house. We will be booking here again as our grandkids did not want to leave.

Very enjoyable vacation!

Unit was clean and cozy. Communication with the owner was excellent. They even came to remove snow from around the cabin after we had 10" of snow. Location was a short walk to Terry Peak, only about 0.2 miles. Would love to come back!

Great location

Perfect location for visiting Spearfish Canyon! The cabin is set back and surrounded by beautiful trees. Wish we had more time to enjoy the deck.

Great Stay!

This cabin was a wonderful place to stay. Amanda was AMAZING in helping us whenever we had questions. The views outside of the cabin was spectacular! We saw a lot of wildlife right off of the deck. The cabin was very clean & our teenage son sure enjoyed the game room downstairs.

Fabulous!

A great place to stay! We had a wonderful time. The cabin is beautiful and equipped with everything you need while away. The location is quiet and secluded yet close enough to all of the hot spots for entertainment. Amanda is easy to get a hold of if you need her and the gift basket was a special touch. We hope to stay again soon, thanks again!

Clean and useful. Spiral staircase is a cool feature, but not kid friendly. Not a negative; just fyi for those with little kids. Tricky stairs to navigate for little ones. Driveway is very steep, so be advised that 4WD may be needed. Great little place, close to slopes.

Amanda's cabin was perfect for our family vacation. The location was great for the activities we planned to do. The cabin was clean and had many extra amenities. We loved our nightly fire with the fire pit on the deck. We all loved the cabin. Thanks for providing a wonderful cabin this truly was one of the best family vacations we have ever had.

Family Reunion

Gold Claim Lodge served as our "home away from home" for a family get-together. The cabin was exceptionally clean and was perfect for our time together. We appreciated the incredibly well-stocked kitchen as we cooked most meals together during our stay. Our grandchildren also appreciated the many games available, as well as the play area in the loft. Comfortable, cozy and perfect for our family. The cabin is also pet-friendly which was important for us. Amanda showed incredible compassion and contacted us regarding an electrical outage during a storm. We would highly recommend Gold Claim as the place to be when visiting the Beautiful Black Hills, and we would book again!

Cabin in the woods

The check in process was quick and easy. Cabin was spacious and clean. The driveway was on an incline but fit two vehicles. We Saw wildlife daily. We enjoyed the cooler weather and sat out on the deck and used the fire pit. Kitchen was small (or we had to many cooks in the kitchen!) but well appointed. House rules were easy. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend .

Christmas Get Away

The cabin was everything we had hoped for. It was conveniently close to Terry Peak, yet we felt secluded and like we were in the forest. It was so clean, and perfectly matched the online description. Amanda was amazingly flexible with us as we encountered some winter weather. The kids are already begging me to book it again. We skied all day and then hit the town at night for a different dinner destination every night. We knocked off the mountain early on Friday and made the drive to Mount Rushmore and we were all happy we decided to do that. We fell in love with the area and can't wait to come back.

The house was extremely clean and even included a welcome basket. It contained everything we needed and was very quiet which was perfect for us. It was dog friendly which is another plus. We stayed here for our trip to Deadwood and Spearfish to photograph the wildlife in the area.
