Fun Family Weekend
We had a wonderful four day weekend at the farm to celebrate our son's college graduation. The house was very comfortable and was the perfect place to reconnect and relax. We had fun exploring the farm and meeting the animals.

Wonderful spot for a vacation
This place is amazing. The cottage is the best equipped and stocked I have ever stayed in. There was tons of room for our 6-year-old grandson to play and run around, a hiking trail on the property, and the animals are fun to watch. You can even buy farm fresh eggs there. it really feels like you are in the country, yet only 15-20 mins to downtown Providence, so the location couldn't be better. Drake made us feel right at home and was a remarkable host!

Such a fabulous retreat!
We love this property! This is our second stay! The house is beautiful and meticulously kept. Beds are super comfortable, there is more than adequate linen supply and a well stocked kitchen. The games and puzzle collection is so wonderful my kids love exploring the games and having some family time to play them. The property is also so beautiful with so much space to walk around. Visiting with their animal family of goats and llama and chickens is so fun with small children. Drake is so warm and welcoming assisting with anything you need. The house and property are clearly so well cared for and loved. We can’t wait to go back!

Great spot!
We had a great long weekend here! Drake and Wright were great hosts! The house had everything we needed for our group of 7. We were in town for a lacrosse tournament and the location was great. We traveled easily to Plymouth for a whale watching tour and a great lighthouse in Jamestown/Newport. We had a wonderful time, thank you so much!!

Excellent Experience
We came as a group of 7 adults and 2 teenagers and stayed for 3 nights to attend a graduation. We would have loved to stay longer and explore the area. Hurricane Hill provided us with a tranquil place to stay and enjoy the animals and quirky house (I mean this as positive as possible - nothing negative here at all). It was nice to have a house with a well-stocked kitchen, excellent friendly, yet non-intrusive hosts, and comfortable beds. We would definitely return if we return to the area.

Great Business Trip
The property was exactly what our team was looking for. We had several business classes to attend in Providence and our team decided to stay at this property. We are certainly glad that we did. We were able to take in the charm of what Providence and the surrounding areas offer by staying here. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone that is looking to relax a bit. Even though you are only a very short drive from the city you feel like you are "away from it all" and it made it easy for us to all relax and take in everything that the property offers. We truly enjoyed our time. Sincerely, Alan S

Beautiful, bucolic getaway
Just idyllic. We were on our way to drop off our kid for freshman year of college, and the tranquility of Hurricane Hill was a welcome distraction from the stress of it all. A beautiful house set on a working farm. I was so fascinated talking to Wright about the animals -- e.g. the personalities of llamas, the effort to save endangered domesticated breeds (a really important subject, I think), a surprising connection they have to George Washington, etc. -- that my family had to come roust me so we wouldn't miss a dinner reservation. A special place. Highly recommended.

Beautiful home and farm!
We loved our stay at Hurricane Hill. Drake and Wright were such gracious hosts always making sure we were comfortable. The property is beautiful with so many places to walk and so many animals to enjoy(chickens, ducks, goats, llamas). Inside the home is so clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We all enjoyed the games we could play in lieu of a TV, the comfortable beds and more than ample supply of towels and bath supplies. Having four bedrooms was also really nice. This is a very charming historic home. We would love to stay here again!

We fell in love with this property and the hosts the second we arrived. Drake and Wright are such lovely people. My children absolutely adored the animals. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, incredibly well stocked and more than enough space for the four of us. Farm fresh eggs we’re waiting for us in the kitchen. We came to visit Providence- it’s only a 15 minute drive to the zoo and river walk. If they’ll have us, we plan to visit again… multiple times!

My family of four, which includes two young children, enjoyed a lovely week! The home has every comfort you could wish for, the beds were very comfy, and the property served as a peaceful home base while we visited local family and enjoyed local activities. My kids LOVED the farm animals, and we enjoyed walks around the property. We had a fantastic time, and plan to stay again whenever we visit. Thank you!!

Short Getaway
Hurricane Hill is the cutest most quaint cozy home I have had the pleasure of spending time in. So much about it was outstanding the grounds which is a working farm, the fact that the house dates back to the 1700s excellent experience. My only regret is that we were only there for a couple of nights. The host was great they left us fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm and they were very accessible without being intrusive. We were there for my son's graduation and it was the perfect place to have the family together I honestly can't wait to go back again when I can spend more time.

Great little cottage getaway!
We were 6 adults and 1 toddler staying here in February for 3 days. We all enjoyed our stay. The cottage is nicely decorated with everything fully stocked. Drake was very welcoming upon arrival and explained everything in detail. She also made sure to mention that everyone on the property is vaccinated, which is a nice reassurance given we had a toddler. The property has lots of walking paths and animals and is a very short drive away from Providence. I would definitely stay here again.

Hurricane Hill is a charming place to stay that provides a "country oasis" for anyone that stays there. The house is very comfortable and clean and offers many things to explore inside and out. We were there to meet family and do geneology research. The house was well located to research in Providence and Pawtucket, as well as to meet family in smithfield and lincoln. My favorite vacation rental ever (really!)
I will think of this beautiful property for years - it's truly my favorite vacation rental I've ever stayed in. My family and I were in town for a wedding - 3.5 year old daughter, 5 month old daughter, husband and myself, and my 70 year old parents. Every single one of us absolutely loved everything about it, especially the animals and the walking trails - a perfect option for a city kid like mine, who ran herself out every single day. Drake is so kind and thinks of absolutely everything, and the house is NOTHING like any rental I've ever stayed in - the art, the furniture, the books, the globes, everything is stunning and clearly chosen with such care. This would be such a lovely place to spend time with kids again or even alone, as it's so relaxing and peaceful. We hope to come back to Hurricane Hill someday, I know I for sure wouldn't stay anywhere else near Providence! Thank you all for an absolutely magical stay!

Historic charm
This rental was as advertised, off the beaten path, but convenient to the places we visited. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen and baths were well stocked. We happened to visit when the weather was unusually hot, so the lack of air conditioning made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. The addition of ceiling fans would have helped.

Thanks for your feedback-unfortunately, we can't add ceiling fans as we have radiant heat in the ceiling. That is why we make a real effort to supply lots of fans for all the rooms (and advertise clearly that we do not have AC). Thanks for staying.

Private Cottage on Hurrican Hill Farm
We were looking for a place big enough for our family of 5 people (my husband and I, our son, 16, and my parents in their 80s). The cottage has 4 spacious, nice bedrooms with very comfortable beds. There is a fairly steep stair going to the upper level. It also has two full bathrooms which is very convenient! Everything is very nice and very clean and you feel like you are a personal guest of the owners and not "just renting a vacation home". Summer flowers and eggs greeted us when we arrived and we loved to meet the chicken, sducks, goats, sheep, llamas, the cat Smokey and the dog Rosy. The hosts, Drake and Wright, are really nice, gracious, inspiring, inviting, lovely people and easy to work with. The trails on the property are wonderful and and we loved the outdoor fire pit and the grill and just relaxing on the hammock in the quiet, beautiful backyard overlooking grassland and woods. The kitchen is modern and well stocked and you find everything to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is not AC, but a lot of fans in the windows and for us it cooled down at night and we slept very well. There is no TV, but Internet, games and lots of books. There is so much to do in Providence and Newport, RI which are close by and many other cute little RI towns (information about it is in a binder in the Cottage). Grocery shopping and Malls are within 15 min. (including Trader Joe's) and lots of interesting Restaurants. Many farmers markets on the weekend as well. We felt so happy and comfortable and enjoyed our stay a lot! Would also be a good place for an event since they also have a beautiful event hall. We absolutely recommend this special place and had so much fun and enjoyed meeting Drake and Wright so much!

Rhode Island country paradise
The hosts Wright and Drake have a charming historic cottage and farm that exceeded our expectations. Quite and quaint yet minutes from highway access, restaurants and shopping. From the perfectly furnished cottage to the hammock hanging in the back yard, it all made us feel perfectly at home. The hosts left us farm fresh eggs that were delicious and we woke one morning to fresh berries. The beds were all extremely comfortable. The farm offers trails for walks and many animals to visit. The property is also home to a sweet dog named Rosie and her feline brother Smokey. They were both as welcoming as Wright and Drake. My boys got a kick out of Rosie always welcoming us to the property with her "hellos". We enjoyed the back porch and board games and a TV was never even missed. Our family made many unforgettable memories on this trip and I personally hope this is not our last visit.

Delightful post-COVID getaway
We wanted a stay where we could house four children, two parents, and a grandparent. We weren't sure about COVID issues, so the farm seemed a great choice - far enough from town, close enough to get just about anywhere on the coast. Onsite entertainment, as needed. This stay far exceeded our expectations. The property is beautiful, the beds comfortable, the hosts kind and patient (our kids are young; they have a lot of questions and many things to say). The kitchen is well-stocked, the laundry works well, and there are two full bathrooms with sufficient hot water for a large crew. Fans made even hot-ish weather really comfortable, and games and toys fully functional for kids of every age. Location is great. We drove on day trips to Boston (the park behind the children's museum), Salem (nice to walk), Providence (check out Brandon's Beach Park), Mystic (delicious food!), York (Hubble Light House), Plymouth (waterfront part), Oakland Beach (little playground, but safe to swim), and both Portsmouths (NH and Mass). We ate icecream and played in parks everywhere. The animals on the farm are wonderful to watch and very well cared for. The fresh eggs and flowers upon our arrival were a nice touch, too. We also loved the grill and fire pit - very safe, even for littles, which was important to us! We highly recommend - certainly for families - but also for girls' weekends or just a quiet family getaway. An older crew could have spent the week reading the books and playing the games in the house, and would never have been bored.
