a 4th class hotel with lack of hotelunderstanding
When making the reservation the two tiered type of rooms were not mentioned. When asked the reception admitted to the lower standard rooms. a hotel that tries to sell itself was international hotel in Copenhagen area without the basic television services is clearly lacking a perspective of what it is offering. personnel at the front desk should be given primary training of how to do their job. Probably correct to change this site to apartments.

staff was grumpy, bad breakfast was expensive, not so clean, dark ugly walls, rusty doors and shower. Generally needs a remodel. Overpriced.

A mixed stay
The hotel was nice and well located. However, the room was exceptionally warm with no air conditioning available. When trying to drain the bath the first evening the water came up through the drain in the bathroom floor. When I told the person at reception he told me it was an issue they had in some rooms - and I was just to drain the bath a bit at a time! I would have expected maintenance to come up or to be given a different room. Because the room was so warm we had to keep the patio door open all night. The Saturday night had blaring music until around 2am - which is fine if that’s your thing - but not if you’re trying to sleep. The room did not have a kettle so had to go downstairs every time I wanted a cup of tea. The open spaces in the hotel were very nice and you are just across the road from the beach which was nice. Staff were generally helpful (apart from the drain issue).

Thank you for your review. It's unfortunate to hear that you had some issues with your room, that we were not able to address immediately. We will strive to do better. The lack of AC is a frustrating fact of many older Danish buildings in these ever hotter summers, that I regrettably have too much personal experience with. Coupled with the music noise, it was a rough night for many. I was here the night of the wedding party across the street, so I sympathize with your suffering through that noise, that went on far too long into the night. Unfortunately, being outside the hotel premises, I had little power to end that racket earlier. The authorities were all too late to do something about it. I'm glad that you, despite of those issues, still had an overall good stay at our hotel.

Great designed hotel on beach
Generally hotel is a period well designed hotel of quality but is suffering a little. It needs a little refresh in some areas eg there is air on but not on. Probable cause of this is current owners want to redevelop, presumably to make a few kroner. A real shame if this happens as it’s a lovely period hotel right next to the beach. Get there while you still can

The hotel dates back to the mid 60's and we have tried to maintain that iconic design aesthetic in our choice of interior when renewing furnishing and such. We are currently undergoing some remodeling and updating our facilities, so hopefully you are able to come back again, and have an even better experience.

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff
Very comfortable hotel with helpful and friendly staff . One drawback is the parking officials in the car park outside the hotel. We received a fine for £100 for parking outside the lines in the car park bay(in order to ensure that a van next to us did not damage our hire car). The hotel were unable to help us with this issue, rather agreed that the parking system is very officious and unfair. This put a damper on an otherwise nice trip.

Pleasant stay at Marina
Staff was really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Unfortunately we could smell cigarette smoke outside on the corridor.

Elegant room, but a bit impractical for us
We stayed here for three weeks while we had to be out of our own house, which is nearby. The location is very nice, just across the road from the harbour and the beach. The hotel has a kind of elegant Danish modern atmosphere. The room was spacious and the view nice, even though it wasn't on the water side. The housekeeping was efficient and courteous. On the down side, the furnishing was rather sparse (no place to put our things) and the lighting was completely insufficient for normal life (not enough of it to read by in the evening, for example). We had to bring a little lamp from home to make the place liveable in the evening. Since my wife and I were both working (online) while we were there, we would have appreciated a desk of some kind, for which there would have been plenty of room. The room had a kitchen along one wall, reasonably well furnished for our needs, though we could have used a microwave oven. About half of it was illuminated by a couple of stylish spot lamps, but the rest of it was in the dark -- we could hardly see what we were cooking or washing up. I think the place would be perfect for a holiday stay in the high summertime (when the lighting is not an issue). But a stay in the winter, especially if you have to do some work in the room, would be problematic.

I booked one day too many (my mistake) and I tried to change it. I couldn't get through to the hotel by phone and by email I was told only Expedia could make changes. However Expedia couldn't get through by phone either. By that time I was into the deadline for changing. Furthermore I was a no show because I showed up 24 hours later than my original booking. Lots of blame to go around (I booked incorrectly, the hotel was unresponsive, Expedia failed to help me out). In the end, the hotel gave me free breakfasts to more than make up for the extra money I had paid through Expedia. The staff was very friendly and helpful, eg they lent me a phone charger for free and without signing for it. Some things didn't work so well. At breakfast the coffee machine was on on some of the time only, and construction was going on right next door. The orange juice was canned. The price (130DKK) is a little steep. But the staff tried to please. The rooms were clean when I arrived. I stayed a week, and by the time I left they could have done with some vacuuming. One of two rooms had a view of the Sound which was very pleasant. The other looked out to the back. The location is quiet but once a week with quite noisy trash collection at 6am at the back. All in all, I got value for money - let's not forget that this hotel is inexpensive for Denmark.

Thank you for your reply. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation these days including the rooms, and should be ready during 2020. Hotel Marina is a Sure Collection Hotel, which is a Soft brand of the Best Western brand. That Means, This hotel will not have coffee or tea tray in the rooms as it is not requiret for a Sure Collection Hotel. Coffee and tea can be picked up in the reception. But we do hope that you will come back in the future. Have a nice day.

Hotel Marina in October
A little outdated but comfortable, could have been cleaner (wardrobes has dirt and animal hair on the floor), but very nice staff and a great location, high street has an amazing cafe and everything is within walking distance. Train takes toy straight into Copenhagen and walks by the water are great.
