When I checked, in the young man at the from desk set the tone for my stay. He was very friendly and helpful! My stay was quiet and uneventful!

Room was clean enough. Beds were comfy. No hot tub, listing said it had one, but its covered and blocked off. Pool was decent. Staff was nice. We had to unplug TV to shut it off, remote didnt work. Also at breakfast there was little to nothing. Cereal, bread, yogurt. (This was at 815 and breakfast goes till 9) they did refill eggs and biscuits when we were almost done. We would stay again, but get breakfast somewhere else

Alex at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. If we needed anything he was quick to take care of it. The hot tub was "under construction". The pool area had a separate shallow only pool for little ones that was fenced off which was really nice. Older kids could be in the pool with deeper water. Beds were comfortable.

Check in & check out were both easy and staff were very friendly. We checked in around 6:30pm and pool was closed, which wasn't a big deal to us as we weren't going to use it. Not sure if it was staff shortage or issue with pool - may be something to look into if you are planning on using it during your stay.

We stayed extra night and bed was hard, ceilings were stained and the carpet was bare in spots, made room look dingy. Check in person was fast and courteous. Outside of hotel made it seem modern.

The gentleman checking us in was plesant, but that was the only person we saw, even at breakfast there was no one. We went swimming, the pool was warm and clean. Hot tub was out of service. The breakfast on the "warmer" was cold. It was sausages that looked like they had been sitting there for 5 days. The toaster had no knobs, so that narrowed our breakfast choices real quick. Beds were not comfortable but not horrible either. All around it was ok for a quick stay, I would not stay for longer than a night.

Friendly people following unfriendly rules?

Staff was nice. Housekeeping staff were awesome. The room was fine. Most amenities were locked up though. Game room was locked. Exercise room was locked. Breakfast area was locked at 10am. Continental breakfast was okay. I think they were short on staff and locked things up to compensate. Understandable but still a bit off-putting.

Room was nice. We didn’t notice between our beds it looked like it wasn’t vacuumed as there were crumbs. Disappointed in the hot tub not working as that’s why I booked that hotel. It would be nice if online someone it can be listed if things like that are out of service. The 2 staff members were very nice and greeted us everytime we passed them. Breakfast was terrible. Biscuits and sausage were cold and not tasty.

Been staying at this hotel every year since it first opened. Always adequate for my family-needs. Just find the price of the rooms to be hyper-inflated for my birth town of Maquoketa, Iowa! $170.00 a night including tax for one person, in Maquoketa?? Having stayed in hotels literally in most major cities in the US, and in Europe over 25 years, this price for this chain hotel was just silly. Don’t even have a full-time person at the front desk! He was nice and helpful when one could find him, but he had so many tasks going on. My yearly family reunion is held at the fairgrounds. The hotel is well-located for sure. The pool is surely a draw for families with children! My bathroom was very nice, as I need the grab bars. Thanks for that!! Please expand breakfast a little. Biscuits and gravy is not healthy!! How about scrambled eggs? Protein is good! Thank you for oatmeal packets, bananas, and yogurt. Coffe was excellent. My comments reflect discussion of AmericInn at my reunion with several people who are now going to the Econolodge, which is nicely updated and has a fabulous breakfast for guests.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was clean for the most part. Lamp shades and other light fixtures needed dusted. Half a role of toilet paper and no body wash in the shower. Bed was comfortable Would recommend this place and stay again.
