Nestled on a hill overlooking a beautiful valley with great views, the description of the cabin was spot on. The cabin itself was spacious with a comfortable porch for lounging. The hot tub and griddle were nice additions for hanging out at the cabin. Our host was attentive and available for questions which we appreciated. Another nice thing about this property was being able to bring our Cane Corso - it was her first long road trip (from Sarasota) and she absolutely loved the mountain hiking trails and the cabin porch. The pictures do not do justice for the gorgeous views. If you’re looking to get away from the daily “hustle and bustle” while keeping the comforts of home then this place is just what you need. It’s conveniently located to Helen while many other opportunities for adventure await nearby. Alan and his wife Sheelyn, are terrific hosts & kept me well informed from the time we booked almost a year in advance until the time we left. They also provided a wealth of information on the area. The cabin was clean and beautifully decorated and the views were amazing. It was great to be able to warm up in the hot tub even on the cold days. Private access to hike up Yonah Mountain was an awesome perk. (It’s a rough hike, but worth the gorgeous views). The cabin had plenty of room for the five of us, and we had lots of options to keep warm with 2 fire pits, and gas logs. Also it’s close to plenty of great local restaurants as well as downtown Helen. I don’t think there is anything we were missing, and we’re already talking about coming back next year. Proximity to Helen/Cleveland gives you the best in options for sightseeing/dining. Spice 55 was a great surprise -- the authentic Bavarian setting of Helen was the real deal. Yonah Mountain access was superb and a great family experience! Hot tub, fire action and house set up were excellent -- the view was unforgettable (sunsets/sunrise, middle of day/night). An SUV is a must for getting up the long, steep, gravel drive. The home had everything we needed. The decorations are a fun mix of fall, western, and nature/animals. The furniture is large and walkways are narrow. If your friends or family need an ADA compliant space, this home would be difficult to navigate. View from the deck was amazing along with the community layout which can be challenging at times. The neighboring towns, Helen and Dahlonega, offer exciting shops and holiday decorations that puts you in the holiday mood. The cabin was clean, homey and comfortable. We were all surprised as to what was made available for our use and comfort. I would highly recommend this cabin and area for rest and relaxation. My mother, 10 year old, dog, and I had a wonderful weekend away at this cozy cabin. I’m still trying to figure out where to find the sheets they use! Communication with the owner was impeccable. We had a small maintenance issue (normal home owner stuff) that was solved quickly. The company they use for maintenance and housekeeping were wonderful. Super friendly and considerate. Our baby gets us up before sunrise and I was thankful for it during this trip! The sun rises right in front of you as you sit on the spacious back deck. The beds are all very comfortable. The kitchen has everything we needed, including a coffee maker (you do not need to bring filters), crock pot, sheet pans, and pots and pans of all sizes. Bring your own laundry detergent if you’re staying long enough to need to do 2 loads of laundry. It’s about 15 minutes to Yonah mountain vineyards and it’s a very easy drive to Helen! The hot tub was very nice. We wish we were there longer to have enjoyed it more! We shared the living area with a number of carpenter ants, but our toddler enjoyed them and they stayed in the living room for the most part.
