Ali, the property manager, was super helpful, super responsive, and made us feel very welcome and listened to. The neighborhood was reasonably quiet, although it is good to note that there is a high school across the street and they warm the buses very early in the morning. This is obviously not in the control of Management, but needed to be noted. I loved the convenience of the neighborhood for food choices, groceries, and also proximity to Downtown Chicago. Very clean when checked in. Some of the pictures are older but pretty accurate to listing. Great location for Oak Park and Downtown! Master bedroom blinds don’t go all the way down, and are needed on first floor unit for sun/privacy. Some minor adjustments (fans) the owner is aware of and addressing. I would recommend a review of the property to enhance the lighting as the unit was very dark and update the heating and cooling units. It was very clean and modern, with most everything we needed to be comfortable. Ali was very responsive. Chicago was unseasonably cold and Ali provided us with space heaters as the landlord had already turned off the central heat. However, one person in my party relies on a walker for stability and balance. It would have been nice to know about the steps required to access the apartment. Also didn’t like it takes 3 keys to access the apartment. Lastly, it would have nice to have extra garbage bags and toilet paper. On the last day we were down to one sliver roll of toilet paper and we had to use all our shopping bags to discard garbage as we were only provided the one bag in the trash can. There was no coffee in our unit our first morning so I messaged Ali, and someone brought us coffee in probably under 30 minutes. Cleanliness marked down only because on the last day as I was checking under beds and such for left-behind items there was a lot of dust bunnies, nothing we can't live with, but of note. Ali was a great host and I would definitely recommend his place for a small group (we had 3 adults). Be sure to try Chicago's Chicken and Waffles, basically around the corner from this unit; it has AMAZING soul food - my brother and I made it our first meal and in Chicago and I'm so thankful we did. ##### Amanda L. Jun 30, 2024 Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Small vrbo, hits the basics The vrbo is situated 6min from downtown oak park and 20-30min from downtown west loop depending on traffic. The check in process and communication with the host was great. All information provided and the early check in was a plus! The space is really just the basics, no frills. The kitchen was fully stocked and there were plenty of linens. The unit is a little on the smaller side for housing 6 guests, but doable with littles. The unit has wall AC and at times the place was not cool enough in the one bedroom that did not have a unit. The beds in the non-master are on the smaller side and don’t fit 2 adults comfortably. Overall, we had what we needed and I think the host was very helpful. ##### Ashlan B.
