The house was very clean and nice. The back deck is a great place to relax and enjoy the amazing view of the smoky mountains. The surrounding area offers many opportunities for fun and leisure. This was the best of EVERYTHING every year, my family and closest friends take a vacation together, and every year we book a different cabin because the accommodations were not perfect for our group. That has all changed! this cabin has the most amazing views, and the host and hostess were totally accommodating. Pictures cannot do this wonderful retreat justice. Never before has anyone in my group enjoyed a cabin so much. Everyone commented on how well they slept, even my sister's therapy dog slept better than usual. It has tasteful decorations, it's fully equipped, the view is beyond wonderful, the parking is very adequate for 4-5 cars (don't bring a long trailer). We were able to turn around a 14 ft trailer with a Tahoe though. There is plenty of space for everyone to stake out bedspace, there are even sofa blankets, can Koozies, games, X-box, plenty of hardware and dishes in the kitchen. We will definitely stay here again. This is an older home with mid 70's charm that has been updated where needed and kept the original charm in the right places.. There is wide selection of hard cover books including Stuart Woods (he was from my hometown, knew him) and many other authors. They have fans, space heaters, ceiling fans, nice showers, I can go on all day. If you're thinking about this location, don't wait, it' great. I'm a retired building contractor, this is about the only home in the area that I wished I owned... :\[ The Slade family has done it right, and no, I don't know these folks. We had family in for the train ride and this was a perfect spot. Close enough to the quaint little towns for shopping and food yet far enough up the mountain to have spectacular Fall views.
