Chaguaní is a small, rural municipality, so the "best area" to stay isn't about distinct neighbourhoods but rather about choosing between a traditional Finca (country estate) experience or a more central, village-based stay. For an authentic, tranquil rural retreat, staying in a Finca on the outskirts of the main village is the best option. These properties are typically located amidst the rolling hills, often surrounded by coffee plantations or cattle pastures, offering stunning views of the countryside. You'll find yourself immersed in nature, with opportunities for birdwatching, hiking, or simply relaxing by a pool. This is ideal for couples seeking a peaceful getaway and a taste of Colombian rural life.If you prefer to be closer to local amenities and experience village life, staying near the main square (Parque Principal) in Chaguaní village is a good choice. While accommodation options here are more modest, you'll be within walking distance of the local church, small shops, and eateries. This area provides a more communal feel, allowing you to observe daily life and interact with residents.

The best time to go to Chaguaní is during the dry season, which generally runs from December to March and then again from July to August.During these months, you can expect more sunshine and less rain, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region and enjoying outdoor activities. The weather is typically pleasant and warm, superb for hiking, visiting coffee farms, or simply relaxing by a pool. For those looking to avoid the busiest tourist periods, late January and February can be particularly good, as the initial holiday rush has settled down, but the good weather persists.
