EASY. We basically enjoyed our stay - it was easy to find, easy to park, easy walk to downtown and although I got no response to my question via email or Expedia text the day before, once I found the phone number, they responded via text almost immediately. I really like the ease of self check in/check out. But fair warning that they do NOT serve breakfast as advertised, and there is NO air conditioning (I realize this is common in beach communities, but even so...we were so hot which made it difficult to sleep.) Super cute room though, and comfortable bed. I would have loved to turn that fireplace on in the winter. :)

I loved the stay here at the Pelican Cove Inn. It was so peaceful and relaxing and a 5 minute walk to the beach and Downtown Carlsbad. If you are looking for a quiet, private stay close to the beach and city fun this is the perfect location for you.

Our room Pelican Cove was decent. There was no AC, just fans in the windows. We could not open the blinds to let some air in because we were on the first floor. The advertise that breakfast is provided, but it really is just coffee and granola bars. I will say it was fairly convenient to stay there for the convenience of walking into Carlsbad village. There really was no one to contact about any issue you might have. We were very grateful that Alfredo was on the premises as he was able to address a few issues that arose. I would not recommend staying. We spoke with other guests who are also dissatisfied. The train also goes by during the evening when you’re trying to sleep.!

The location is great. Charming rooms however the rooms could use air conditioning. It was brutally hot throughout the night. The bed was super comfortable and room was exceptionally clean. I was a little lost with how to get into the room at first. I didn't get a confirmation email with the room code so when I got there, I had to call several times for someone to answer and give me the code to get into the room. The next day, I left for the day and when I returned, the code didn't work and I had to call again and they gave me a new one with no explanation of why it could've happened? Not sure if it happens often. Other than that, very cute place and the price and location were worth the stay.

One night stay in the Newport room. Nice quiet property in a good location. Room was clean & comfortable. Check-in was easy & not seeing any staff was not a problem. Room was warm and a little musty smelling upon 1st entering at 8p, the provided fans were needed. Queen bed was soft and bouncier than our preference.

What a great room for the family! The grounds are pretty with unique plants. There’s no pool but it’s one street to the beach. The hotel has sand buckets and folding chairs to use. On Wed evenings there’s a street market two blocks away. Great restaurants everywhere. I loved the clean, fresh-smelling pillows and sheets.

The location was excellent. It was close to walk to many plces.The room was not what we expected. There was not a balcony, it was a walkway. The fireplace did not work properly. There wasn't a place to hang clothes or a mirror that was not in the restroom.

Not a fancy, upscale resort but a unique little Inn decorated with cute antiques and cozy furnishings…which we loved! Great location!…just a short walk to the beach or Carlsbad Village. We would definitely stay here again!
