It was peaceful with nice views. The house was comfortable and clean. Our family enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Staying there allowed us more time to explore the southern part of the Island without spending so much time in the car. It is a 20 minute drive from most amenities, but that wasn’t really a problem for us. Dining out is much more affordable in this area than from Kona north. The hosts were helpful and gracious, and the house was well equipped. If we visit this part of the island again we’d definitely stay here again. ##### brian A. The photos are accurate: the views are stunning, the apartment itself is lovely and very comfortable, and the amenities (pool, hot tub, etc) are exactly as described. The bedrooms are enclosed but the living room and kitchen are open, so you feel like you're really immersed in the surroundings. Sunsets each evening are spectacular with the west-facing exposure, and the sunrises are serene and calming with indirect light coming over the shoulder of the volcano behind. The hosts (and their dogs) are warm and welcoming. Even though they live next door, we had a real sense of privacy. The location is a bit distant from shopping, restaurants, etc. (about 25 min drive to the nearest grocery store), but it only needed a little bit of fore-planning to work things out, and for us the fact that it was away from the crowds was a big plus.
