Employees were excellent, restaurant is good and an excellent pool just 10 km away from the center of Lucca. The area around the hotel is agricultural, in a boring way. "Our host was simply wonderful! I cannot say enough good things about this experience. This was a delightful gathering of friends in Lucca. I definitely recommend having Monica cook a meal for you one night while you stay- you will not be disappointed. I also recommend buying some of Monica's cheeses to enjoy while you are there- they pair perfectly with local meats, and you cannot get fresher cheese than this. Hospitality and responsiveness was wonderful- and they have many great insights on things to experience in the area. This was truly a wonderful and special visit."

"The weather didn’t permit much time in the pool (it was somewhat chilly) but when we did use the pool, it was fabulous. The house was very comfortable and basic amenities were provided. The property manager, Franco, was wonderful. He responded immediately to calls or emails and recommendations were terrific."

"We hosted our entire family and some close friends over a two-week stay in September, and it was an unforgettable joy. Every guest gasped with pleasure upon arrival, and these were almost all seasoned travelers. The villa has enough space to give everyone privacy and also to accommodate gatherings. We had karaoke in the lemon house, yoga on the lawn, wonderful dinners in the dining room, and late-night conversations in the sitting rooms. Looking out of the kitchen windows while preparing dinner was a joy, and my kids all miss that view! Daniela and Paulo were extremely responsive and helpful, and every service we retained e-bikes, masseuses, chefs was terrific, thanks to them. We made memories at Villa Valgiano that will last a lifetime. And we left a little bit of our hearts in Tuscany. A selection of mixing bowls, from small to mid-size, and some mixing spoons, would be great. And maybe a blender? We are serious cooks and missed those tools."
