no elevator, we were on top floor, one of our room's toilet did not flush, other room had loose sliding balcony door with 1/4" gaps that rattled with wind and let in hot air and noise, located on super busy noisy street, no closet or storage space, exposed drywall, room key worked on multiple doors, grease ants in room, surrounding area had minimal services/restaurants, minimal amenities

Everything in Cancun is much more expensive than in the past. This hotel has good rates, but poor cleanliness. When we got into our room we saw hair on the floor. When we left during the day, we asked staff to empty our garbage (they give you one small garbage bin for the whole room and you put your toilet paper in it, too). They didn’t empty our trash. Breakfast is stale cereal, juice, coffee, toast and fruit. We paid extra for chilaquiles which weren’t spicy like they should be. Hair dryer is super hot, I couldn’t use it. Hot water was great, good counter space. You can hear other people in the hotel because there’s glass doors and windows in the hotel room. No fan in the bathroom.
The only reason I didn't leave a lower review is because the staff was so friendly. For what they're charging the water pressure and the shower was terrible, The faucet barely worked. The toilet barely flushed it looked nice inside but nothing worked as it should
A one night stay before we flew home early… the room was very small, ants all over the one surface a desk… the bed covers had stains… but the bathroom was really nice, updated and clean. The hotel itself is a cute place. Restaurant on site with a small menu…. A few options for local bites walking distance.
They had special events for people from outside of the hotel. Playing music and hanging out until 3am. Guests couldn’t sleep until people leave the party. It wasn’t communicated at the time I booked the hotel. I wouldn’t book if I knew those kind of party is in their schedule.

Budget friendly and ok location.
The good: People were friendly and prompt to answer request. The room bed seemed clean and the mini fridge was empty for use. The price was very budget friendly n near a couple of shopping areas, one modern and one for "artesanias"
The Bad. The internet password was wrong. The bathroom was not fully clean and there was mold on the walls. The shower head is located at the corner where 2 walls meet with the head only about a foot long, which made showering difficult even for a small skinny person.
Last, the place is very very loud. The large TV on the pool area is so loud I had to ask nightly to turn it down. The walls are kind of thin.
We highly recommend the Hotel Blue Star Cancun! Beautiful and very clean with great service as we arrived late in the evening from our flight. Bed and pillows were comfortable and the AC works great. We had a nice wrap around bacony with a city view. The pool is small but adorable...we didn't have time to use it but it looked very clean...fun for kids too. Best to buy more water when you check in as there are only 2 bottles provided in the room. Breakfast was good... your basic continental but you can order off their menu too. FYI there are no elevators so be prepared to possibly walk up several flights of stairs to get to a room with a view of the city. They arranged for a taxi to take us to the ferry to stay in Isla Mujeres for a few days. We go back in a couple days to spend the night to catch an early flight the next morning. Overall very happy with our choice!

Just ok
The rooms where good, they where all very unique. The roof top deck was amazing. The bad was that the listing for the hotel said there was a restaurant and 2 bars, but there isn't. Also 3 of our 4 rooms never had any hot water, so we all had to take cold shower's :-(
Also there wasn't really anything to do around the hotel.
There is no restaurant or either of the two bars advertised on the property. The pool is tiny but clean. Our bed was hard. The toilet seat in our room wouldn't stay open and would spring closed before you could sit down. Our room and two other rooms that our party booked had no hot waterand we were told the night guy forgot to prepare it. Other than that, the rooms were cute and each one unique. The breakfast station had a good variety and they cooked fresh eggs, omlets or a scramble for you.
A very pleasant hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and spotless airconditioned rooms, with good WiFi. An excellent breakfast is served and the people at the front desk speak English and are eager to help with any request. The only quibble was that there is no sign at the front of the hotel, so the taxis sometime struggle to find it.

The rooms are a good size and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. However, it is not as advertised, as the two bars (one roof top) were closed and didn't look as if they had been open for weeks or even months. There was also no fridge or safe in our room (B2). All of this meant that relaxing by the pool or spending an evening on the pretty rooftop terrace was impractical. If the bars were open, it would have been a good place for a day or two before/after a flight but there is not much around it either.

This place was absolutely gorgeous. Despite it being a little further from the main tourist attractions it had a great local vibe with cute little restaurants/markets around. The hotel was always kept clean and the service provided was beyond my expectations, with well spoken English. Wouldn’t speak any more highly of this place !

A little oasis about 20 minute walk west of downtown. Large clean room with very efficient a/c. Bed a bit firm but ok. Staff very friendly. Decent pool. Nice breakfast.
I liked the hotel architecture. My room had A/C, courtesy water bottles refilled every day. The room is cozy and sound proof haha I could sleep easily. This hotel has all places within minutes in Cancun downtown.
Book if you’re not staying in Zona Hotelera and want to experience living downtown.
Taxis take you everywhere with 3US$ or 40 MX$.
The only complain I had is the Wi-Fi range and speed. It dropped connectivity most of the time.
Other than that, they have pool inside, are open 25/7 and staff is always there to help you. Select the room rate with breakfast as it is delicious!
I will be staying here again in my future Cancun trip next year.
We were apprehensive about this stay when our taxi rolled up into the neighborhood. Baseless fear. Though there are few stores or restaurant nearby, a younger walker would find plenty.
The staff at the hotel is phenomenal from the owner (Marcelo) to Fernando (who helped us so much), Romeo, and Cesar (the chef who prepared our very nice made to order breakfasts on the veranda) and everyone else.
The pool though smallish was fun including "La Blow up Flamingo".
The owner tells us that he plans further improvements including an elevator and all day restaurant, both of which will be significant additions. We recommend this South Beach style hotel for a quieter and catered-to time.
Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Fernando bent over backwards to make us happy. We just found out that our flight has been delayed and the hotel approved a late checkout for us. Breakfast was also very good.
Lit très confortable. Chambre spacieuse et moderne . Petit déjeuner compris mais il faut payer pour extra.
Ce n est pas un incontournable mais pour un booking de dernière minute c' est convenable.
