"We didnt know this property existed even though we have driven past frequently. Its set in beautiful park like grounds. The hotel is boutique-like. Unique. Architecturally interesting built with local materials. Our room was very comfortable. It did have two steps UP to the bathroom which is a trick for people who get up in the night in the dark. A continental breakfast is included which was a nice surprise. It would be an excellent venue for a special occasion."

"The triple spa room and bathroom were spotless and the amenities adequate with the toaster and kettle being brand new. Mind you, the one pack of two biscuits for a room that slept 3 was less than adequate. Furnishings were sparse but met our needs. Additional pillows were requested and supplied immediately (thank you). Parking could be an issue - but there are a few additional carparks around the back of the premises. Our only complaints are that there is a light outside Room 12 and with glass in the door - it makes the room bright at night - we had to hang towels over the glass after the first night, Secondly, I would suggest that the girl on the reception counter in the morning needs to be trained in customer relations - as her attitude when a security issue with access cards was raised was less than average. Location excellent - walking distance to numerous restaurants. "

"Watershed was a really lovely place to stay - easy to find, calm, beautiful setting - and immaculately taken care of by the hosts. It's only a short drive from Cambridge and a great stepping stone for places like Rotorua, Waitomo and Hobbiton. Warmly recommended."

"Nice and clean. Bed was comfy and AC worked fine. Breakfast was really basic continrntal but certainly no Croissant here. Pool not heated. Rooms look very sad, in need of modernity and sofa/chairs need serious vlean up. Too expensive for the quality. "

"Only about 25 minutes from Hobbiton, which made it a great place to crash after the evening banquet tour. We arrived rather late and it was quite dark. When we woke up in the morning and saw the view we were blown away. Gorgeous spot with comfy beds. "

"The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was a bit dated, the carpark was limited for space and the person in the room to the left was a smoker and was constantly outside smoking, which left a stale smell outside the adjacent rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. "
