Villas Pina is a wonderfull place to stay on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. It is beautifully landscaped by the owners Eric and Sharon. We had a roomy space with a private deck clost to the dining area and pool. The entire compound is enclosed at night to keep the owner's dogs inside so it is very safe. There are a couple of "resident" slothes that we were able to watch and numerous birds. The Lodge has its own private beach area which is quiet and beautiful. Good restaurants are nearby.

Gorgeous property, perfect location
High quality rooms with a large private porch overlooking beautiful tropical garden, and exceptional service from owners Sharon and Eric and their staff. Conveniently located, even without a car it was easy to get around, and the best breakfasts imaginable.

Our hosts, Eric and Sharon were fantastic. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The morning breakfast was a dining experience. Staff was friendly and eager to help. The premises and gardens were beautiful and well maintained. There was plenty of wildlife on the premises, from a variety of birds to sloths. Would highly recommend.

Would absolutely stay again!
Excellent stay in the Caribbean. Beautiful property. Gardens are amazing. Filled with geckos, dart frogs, squirrels and sloths. Just to name the ones we saw every day. Spacious comfortable room. Delicious traditional style breakfast each morning in the garden and the pot of coffee waiting for us on our private patio each morning was a perfect start to the day. Eric and Sharon are terrific hosts. Their attention to detail is superb.

Eric and Sharon were excellent hosts. The breakfast fit the local cuisine and tasted amazing. The common areas and the room were perfect for relaxing before or after an exciting day along the Caribbean Coast. Eric's recommendations for local activities were spot on each day. We really felt care for while we were guests.

A Slice of Paradise in Puerto Viejo!
Colette and I loved our recent stay at Villas Pina! The grounds and facilities were gorgeous, the breakfasts were delicious and the hosts were very attentive and friendly! We hope to make Villas Pina our new "go-to" destination for regular getaways from the difficult winters in Minnesota! We loved the area too!

I literally have never stayed at a more stunning oasis with nicer hosts in my life. The attention to detail and love and care for their home and visitors time in their home and in their city is phenomenal. The personal touches, the caring conversations, the love for their pets and wildlife and nature …. I truly could go on and on. Loved every moment of our 8-night stay. This place was a little oasis, but what we appreciated the most was the hospitality and warm welcome we received from the owners, Eric and Sharon! They make you feel like home immediately!! The breakfast was also really nice and tasteful! Definitely a quality place created with lots of passion! Highly recommended!!

Let me start by saying we had originally planned on staying only two nights, but then left our highly rated and fully paid for hotel to return to this gem. Why? It is new, immaculate, beautiful, with ice cold AC, large shower with plenty of hot water, a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, private patio with hammocks ( and hot coffee waiting each am), sloths, parrots, kinkajous, a private path to the beach, beautiful gardens and pool, delicious big breakfast, really wonderful staff, attention to every detail. They even arranged to have a wonderful dinner waiting for us upon our late arrival. I come to Costa Rica twice a year, and this is by far the best hotel I've stayed in.

This is paradise!
Eric and Sharon at Villas Pina have built paradisiacal hotel suites surrounded by tropical gardens in a very calm environment. It's the perfect place for resting and relaxing if that's what you're looking for. The suites are very new, clean and nicely decorated, the service and attention to detail is remarkable, breakfast is superb too. Eric's knowledge of the area and must see attractions is a plus and comes very useful when you only have a few days to explore... Definitely a place to come back

Villas Piña is as close as you can get to perfect. The villas are delightfully furnished in happy pastel tones dominated by turquoise and pineapple motifs. The grounds are alive with beautifully kept plant life and flowers. Lucy the resident sloth is easy to spot atop her favourite tree. Our hosts Eric and Sharon were a wealth of information and assistance. The staff is cheerful and prepares a delicious breakfast each morning. The lovely beach at Playa Negra is a short walk away. And the main town, Puerto Viejo, is a short drive away with all the services you might need.

I pride myself for finding great places to stay, but this one tops them all. The room was immaculate, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was perfect, the AC had a remote control. Now to the fun stuff... The property is beautiful. The staff is amazing, and they prepare the best breakfast for you every morning! Coffee at your door at 6:30... What more can you ask for? Well, there is more. The owners of the property are amazing and will help you make the most of your stay with suggestions when requested. They are so welcoming but also give you your space and know when to just let you enjoy your time at their place. They were the perfect hosts. If in this area, book here. You will love your experience!

Top Notch.! This hotel is small but so wonderful and quiet. It’s built on a old cacao (chocolate) plantation so many cacao pods are still growing. Rooms and all features of the units are well thought thru and comfortable. Owners are a dream to talk with about the area, activities and even the breakfast. You will enjoy your stay, make sure to stroll down to the beach, the lush garden and check out the great breakfast prepared for you. Bikes are available for day rides and the pool is excellent.! Wait until dark and hear the kinkajous playing the trees. There is a resident sloth too. Pura Vida.!

What an amazing gem of a hotel-beautiful, quiet, remote. Eric and Sharon are the perfect hosts who provided all the extras—coffee delivered in the morning to our private patio, fresh fruit juices and hot breakfasts each morning. (The Gallo Pinto was the best we ate on our trip). The gardens are exquisite and Eric provided a private tour. The best part were the rented bikes to explore all the hidden beaches and cafes out of Puerto Viejo.

I chose Villas Pinas mostly based on the excellent reviews for a last minute trip and was not disappointed. The owners, Sharon and Eric, go above and beyond to make sure every single guest feels at home and likes the location as much as they do. The breakfast was delicious, always fresh and heahlty. Another perk every morning around 6.30am they bring early morning coffee to your room. The Villas are pretty new, very clean and comfortable. I can highly recommenend them. The area here is still very authentique and it takes some driving to get here, but it‘s totally worth it.

This place is simply fabulous. It is hard to single out one specific feature that we loved. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Eric, the owner, who made sure we had everything we needed and toured us around the property, including some spectacular gardens and huge trees. The Villa was spacious, clean, and tidy. Accommodations include a small but functional kitchenette, an outdoor porch with a hammock, and a seating area. The woodwork throughout the property is beautiful and was built almost entirely by Erick and his crew. There are only 6 villas in the complex, so time at the pool is quiet and relaxed. So much so, you can also see toucans and other wildlife from the gardens. Breakfast was delicious and served by a crew of young, friendly costa Rican staff.
