"The moment I arrived at the site, even though it was dark and drizzling at 10 pm, I knew it was special. The frogs were singing and it was so beautiful. Larry brought me to the site even though it was so late. In the morning, I could not believe my eyes at the sun coming over the incredibly blue lake. "Very nice clean cabin set back from main roads. Quiet with the only the sound of the small stream next to cabin. Set back from main road about a mile, but easy access."

"We had a relaxing trip. When we arrived Crystal had hid 72 eggs all around the property. The kids, even the teenagers, loved it after travelling in the car. The cabin is so neat and vintage. We made Lego flowers, clay creations, enjoyed porch sitting and Yokums hot dogs are the very best! We had a wonderful Easter dinner in the kitchen. The day after Easter we toured Smokehole Caverns. We made memories that we will never forget."

"Small cabin, yes. Perfect for a family of up to four, max. Perfect for a couple. This cabin is absolutely delightful, though. I would love to come back to it. It is actually a bit bigger than these photos make it look, and has a great outdoor space around it. It is also well appointed and the decorations and style are perfect."

"House was very nice, with excellent views. The lake was beautiful and teaming with fish and geese. Hardwood floors were a bit dirty on the main floor, but everything else was clean. Owner was very responsive when contacted, and there was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. I think it was the best house on the lake! We are looking at our calendars right now wanting to go back!"

"The property was perfect for our short weekend stay. The view lived up to the previous reviews. It snowed during our stay which added to the beauty. The cabin and the process of confirming it was easy and convenient. The cabin had the basic kitchen needs and also some games to play with the kids. If I had to suggest anything it would be to add directions for the fire place remote. It was not pairing with the fireplace, but someone from the main office came over quickly to fix it. "The condo was lovely with amazing amenities. Very quiet but it was too far from trails, eateries, and other things to do. Had to drive everywhere and there was no view but there was a nice deck.Again very nice but just didn’t include some of the logistics I had hoped for. This was not our first time at Canaan but our first time at this property. Beware, there are steps from parking lot to unit but condo is one floor."

"The house is in a great location to visit all the attractions in the area of the Canaan Valley of West Virginia. If you like hiking there are plenty of trails nearby. The house is pleasant, comfortable and well equipped. The owners Laurie and Chip are next door if you need any assistance. The mountain views are spectacular!"
