The host was friendly and accommodating. The cottage has just about every thing you could want. It was clean, the furniture was very comfortable. It is very convenient to the great little downtown area, where you'll find good choices of eateries, really nice gift stores. They have market days on the green, where you'll find all kinds of fresh vegetables, flower and much more. The town itself has a lot of culture. We found that people were very friendly and were happy to help with direction and such. Also, you have the public transportation to get around to other locations rather quickly...like Portland, Freeport, Bath, etc. If you are looking for a place to relax, sight see, enjoy a nice selection of restaurants and some really great cafes', then this location is prime. Oh and you can also visit Bowdoin Collage where you'll find music, art, theater and just a nice campus to stroll. This cottage is within walking distance of all the places I mentioned.
