Summary: You won't just love this old fisherman's cottage for its peaceful location in the harbour bowl and unmatchable sea views, it has also been newly refurbished with gorgeous interiors that'll make you feel at home as soon as you step through the door. The whole property is spread out over three levels, with ample space for groups of couples or families of up to 6. It is also very well-equipped throughout, with a wonderful kitchen, living room with smart TV and two bathrooms. The perfect getaway!
The Space: On the upper ground floor, you will find the open plan living, kitchen and dining room. Views stretch out for miles ahead, and nothing beats enjoying a morning coffee by the window! The stylish, modern kitchen has everything you need to cook delicious meals. Traditional shaker-style cabinets and a ceramic butler sink give the space character, whilst alongside you will find plenty of mod cons including a coffee machine & cafetiere, electric hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. You can eat your meals at the dining table, or up at the breakfast bar if you wish! There's also a high chair for little ones. At the end of a busy day you can relax and enjoy the beautiful harbour and sea views from the lounge. The cottage is also equipped with a range of entertainment such as a Smart TV with complementary Netflix and Disney Plus subscriptions, a large Bluetooth speaker for unwinding to your favourite tunes, as well as a selection of board games, books and children's toys.
Downstairs on the ground floor, you will find two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed as well as stunning sea views which can be enjoyed from the moment you open the blinds in the morning. Whilst next door is a children's bedroom with bunk beds. Lovely, homely touches have been added throughout the property: cushions, throws, house plants and cosy lighting. On the lower ground floor there is a further double bedroom which also enjoys sea views, as well as two bathrooms. Both bathrooms have been renovated to a high standard, with pretty bohemian tiles on the floor and luxurious waterfall head showers. The family bathroom also has a bath, and there is a utility room with a washing machine. From this floor, you are able to access the patio garden with its stunning sea views and table and chair set, as well as the shared direct access to the harbour steps. It's luxurious feel and close proximity to the harbour makes this the perfect bolthole for a coastal weekend or week away!
Guest Access: Guests will have access to the whole property.
The Neighborhood: The property's elevated position on the harbour bowl makes this one of the most enviable spots in Brixham! You're close to all of the town's best amenities, whilst also retaining plenty of peace and privacy. The property has shared direct access to the harbour steps so you can be in the hustle and bustle in just under five minutes.
Brixham is a beautiful harbourside town on South Devon’s English Riviera. Life here has always centred around the harbour, where heritage trawlers and day boats head out to sea for the day’s catch, bringing it home daily to Brixham’s famous Fish Market. A serene coastline, cobbled streets and pastel-coloured fisherman houses are just some of the things that give Brixham so much character. Situated in the southern corner of Torbay, there is a wealth of things to do in the area. Go shopping at some of the independent shops in the town, eat incredible seafood in the restaurants, visit some of the local beaches or set out for a day at sea!
There are several great beaches in the Brixham area. Breakwater Beach (nine minute walk) has won a host of awards for its cleanliness and all-round quality, whilst Shoalstone Beach is where you will also find Shoalstone Seawater Pool, an iconic Art Deco Lido built on a natural rock pool. Within 1.5 miles of the town centre, you will also find St Mary’s Bay, Churston Cove and Fishcombe Cove, which all enjoy a mixture of shingle and sandy beaches, interesting rock formations, clear waters and are much quieter than Brixham’s main beaches. A little further out from town is Elberry Cove, a small pebble beach characterised by wooded hillsides, and the waterside ruins of Lord Churston’s former bathhouse, a romantic 18th-century ruin. It also features on the local Agatha Christie Literary Trail as it was the author’s favourite spot for a swim. Broadsands Beach nearby is also nearby and a fantastic spot for watersports hire, with stand up paddle boards, canoes and kayaks available.
For nature lovers, Berry Head National Nature Reserve offers plenty of opportunities to spot rare and endangered wildlife species, such as dolphins, seals and sea birds, as well as a chance to explore the Napoleonic forts and look around the Geopark visitors’ centre. This internationally-acclaimed heritage site with its magnificent limestone cliffs marks the entrance to the UNESCO Global Geopark (there are only 7 in the world). At the tip of Berry Head is the Berry Head Lighthouse, the UK’s smallest and highest lighthouse at only a few feet high and 191 feet above sea level. This is just a taste of the endless walks to explore along the South Devon coastline. Another great way to view the local wildlife and scenery is from one of the many boat trips available from the harbour.
After a day of exploring the coast, there’s no better place to get cosy and unwind than in one of Brixham’s traditional pubs. We can recommend New Quay Inn (five minutes walk), one of the town’s oldest inns with award-winning local ales and ciders as well as Blue Anchor (five minutes walk), a short step from the harbour. Another popular gastropub in Brixham is The Queens Arms, which boasts highly regarded Sunday carvery. In the heart of England’s Seafood Coast, you can expect the best seafood there is. Head to Rockfish, Beamers or Breakwater Bistro to try the catch of the day or Albero for great coffee! For those who love to cook from home, there are a wide selection of local artisan shops, as well as fresh seafood available from Brixham Fish Market.
Getting Around: The central location of the property means you won't need a car for much of your stay. The harbourside is just a short walk away, as is Breakwater Beach (nine minute walk). That said, there is no longer a train station in Brixham, so you will need a car to make the most of your stay here and the local area. There is street parking on North View Road with limited spaces. We can recommend other nearby locations if required and area NCP car park tickets are available at cost.
Other Things to Note: Please note: We have a strict no pet policy for allergy reasons.
The property is primarily set up for families and mature groups or couples. It is by no means a party property.
Interaction with Guests: We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

Amazing Cottage in Brixham
It was our first time staying in the Devon area and we were not disappointed. Not only is Brixham a lovely place to visit, but it was made even better by this accommodation. This cottage is kit out with all the facilities with a modern contemporary feel. Rooms and beds are comfortable and the kitchen is amazing with all the newest utilities.
But the icing on the cake was the most amazing views from the lounge window which one could literally stare out the entire day. Communication with the host, William was brilliant and he replied within minutes.
Looking forward to staying there again in the near future

Christmas in Brixham
We had a wonderful time staying in the cottage, we were blown away with the view! It was great for a teenager and two younger kids, it would also be great if you had a relative with you as the second double bedroom is away from the main bit of the house and near the bathroom. It was really clean and we loved the coffee machine and the new kitchen and cosy cushions, blankets, plants etc to make it feel like a home. It would be nice to have a lamp in the lounge too for low lighting. The bedroom decor was also really cool. There was everything that you needed and a short walk to the town and beach. Looking forward to staying again.

Friends Getaway
We recently enjoyed a 3 night stay in Brixham at Bayview Cottage. The cottage is aptly named with a stunning view of the bay which can be enjoyed from the lounge and two of the three bedrooms. This property has a deck as well with the same stunning view however it is not very inviting with overgrown and unattended weeds/plants and minimal and uncomfortable deck furniture. The deck needed to be swept and cleaned up to enjoy.
Inside, the kitchen is lovely and well appointed. The lounge has minimal furniture that is not very comfortable. The bedrooms are well set up with comfy beds and bedding.
The property design is vertical split over three floors with both bathrooms side by side on the bottom floor and the kitchen and lounge on top. For those who have mobility issues, the property could prove challenging.
Parking or lack thereof can also be challenging but we managed.
Cleanliness was adequate however it was evident the carpet had not been thoroughly vacuumed before our arrival.
In terms of staple supplies we found the lack of tissue/Kleenex and shower gel an inconvenience and had to go out and buy upon our arrival.
Overall we enjoyed the property. The location and view are outstanding.

Points forts : Propreté, commodités, état et installations de l’hébergement et communication.
What was great:
The view at the harbour ist spectacular. Also it is quite calm there. Everything you need is in the house. It was almost clean.
Problems:
There is nor possibility for bigger cars to park in the street. You have walk ca. 500 meters. You have to look for a parking space every day. No power outlets in the bathrooms. Very narrow and steep stairs in the house. So it is a problem to use the house with very young children or disabled persons. When we arrived the toilet seat in the main bathroom was broken. It was not usable for us. We informed at once but it was only repaired one week later.
Also in Brixham everywhere there are a lot of stairs you have to walk to get down to the harbour/city. That was for us not a problem. Therefore the view is really fantastic.

Great cottage, amazing view
The property is newly refurbished and very stylish. Its also well equipped and very comfortable. Great kitchen for self catering. The location just a short walk down into the town is ideal. Also great for coastal walks. Superb base for exploring that corner of Devon.
