British Columbia Visitor Centre at Osoyoos Tours and Activities

The Coast motel in Penticton was a lovely surprise. The rooms were very modern and up to date and the beds very comfortable. The staff were great and helped us to carry our luggage up to the second floor. There was lots of parking close to our room.

My first impression of the hotel of walking in to the hotel was that it was dated and dark. I felt like I was stepping into an old casino. The front desk staff were friendly and very efficient, in fact all the staff were very helpful. The hall between the front desk and the elevators smelled like pot on the first day. It was quite the maze walking through corridors and going up elevators to find my room. First impression walking into the room was it was also dated and dark. I went straight to the window to open it for fresh air to discover that it overlooked the pool atrium so that meant there was no fresh air. The room was clean other than the night stand had coffee and grease stains which leaped out at me when I lay down to go to sleep. The lighting is so poor in the rooms I can see how the cleaners could miss it. The bed is old and saggy, like the decor it has seen better days. You can see out into the hall through a crack between the room door and the frame. The sides of the bathtub are rounded to the middle so it was like standing in a bowl with no flat bottom when I showered. I think the biggest barrier to my comfort in staying was the bed and the loud air conditioning unit which sometimes rattled and affected my sleep. I liked the soaps and lotions that are not overly scented. Was anything on my stay awful? No. Yes, I would stay here again, IF, the price was right. It is very close to the beach and the trails. I am glad there were scooters out front.
