Excellent service, grounds are immaculate, interesting history. Our room was very nice.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Halston and it never fails to impress. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. It is like having your own apartment.

Beautiful, rural setting. Three hundred year old manor house now a lovely, boutique hotel. The young lad who checked us in, Will, was very helpful, and a great bar keep. Food was delicious. Overall, just a lovely stay.

We had the most wonderful surprise of all . I booked the hotel not really knowing much about the area and WOW what a lovely , lovely place. Rooms are decorated ,ultra clean, wonderfull beds and linens , soft , thick towels , wonderfully soap and creams ,what a gem ! The owners could not have been more accommodating to us, they drove us around to the sights and made us feel like family. The Pub and restaurant were superb , food all local , cooked to perfection. We also had a tour of the private...

Nice place, friendly staff, good value.

Staff was great, especially Margaret at the pub/restaurant. Room very comfortable and they thought of every little thing. Food was good.

The Black Bull is located in the quaint village of Wark on the River Tyne. A truly lovely atmosphere with walking trails along the river. The rooms are recently renovated with a large bathroom and walk-in shower. A beautiful glassed in conservatory with comfortable leather sofa and chairs provides a lovely view of the property. The dining and pub facilities are top rated. The Black Bull is a perfect location for a quiet getaway.

Staff were super nice and helpful

I loved staying here. If you’re looking for the authentic British village experience this is it. My only critique is that the continental breakfast leaves much to be desired and there’s no place to get a coffee before 830 (a shop up the street) and for an early riser like me that was a bummer. BUT , I loved staying here (prob...

We arrived really late and James was very helpful and accommodating. I needed a cork screw and offered to come to the desk, but James insisted that he would bring it to the room and was there within minutes. This was the best sleep on the trip we've had so far; very quite, very comfortable and we wish all of our hotel stops were like this one.

Perfect!

A lovely place

Food was outstanding! Staff went above-and-beyond.
