The location was perfect for us. It was in the center of everything so we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. The place was also nice and clean and just the right size for the two of us. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here again!

Great location.
My sister and I loved this apartment. It was clean and comfortable for the two of us and you just could not beat the view from the deck overlooking the harbor. We did a lot of walking in and around the harbor. The new footbridge across the harbor was a great walk back and forth every day and there were plenty of little shops to visit in this charming location. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great spot in Boothbay Harbor
Loved the Coal Shack. The place was spotless and you are steps away from everything! We brought our dog and he loved Boothbay Harbor. They made good use of the space packing in everything you need. Also loved that they use items from the local shops in the Coal Shack. Internet can be spotty at times. Only thing we did not love is all extra fees.

Location couldn’t have been better. The place was clean, well supplied, and absolutely adorable. LOVED the balcony. Our dogs sat out there constantly and watched people walk by. Great view of the harbor. We were right across the street from the best wine/deli in town. Easy morning walk to our favorite breakfast place, Blue Moon.

Great Location and Awesome Amenities
Conveniently located so that everything you want to do and see is within walking distance. Views from the desk were awesome. Inside the unit, the owners thought of everything. We highly recommend this unit and Boothbay Harbor in general. This was our first trip to Maine and was one of our best vacations to date!

Great spot!
Loved this spot! Very close to restaurants and shopping. Cute little studio was just right for me, my BF, and dog. Loved the front deck overlooking the harbor. Studio was easy to find, very clean, and had just what we needed. Can’t wait to return!

Great location and wonderful space
We had a great time in Boothbay harbor and enjoyed the proximity of all restaurants, stores and shuttle to coastal Maine botanical garden light show. The apartment was perfect for the two of us.

What an amazing location and view of the water and boats. The place is well stocked and everything you need is there. Exceeded our expectations. Our dog felt welcome. If you need a dog walker while you stay there call Sara at 207-522-5138, she took care of my dog while we went on day trips. Referred to me by person on Rover.com.

A little piece of heaven
We are home and my dogs are sad. Coal Shack is a well appointed studio with a wonderful deck. My husband and I sit and play backgammon with cocktails. Our dogs sit and watch everyone go by. Now that we are home they miss the deck. If you want to park your car and walk to everything this is the place.

Downtown chic!!
Beautiful upstairs apartment with harbor views from the awesome deck! My husband and I enjoyed it so much! It is so beautifully updated, comfortable and clean! The location is perfect and close to everything in Boothbay Harbor. Hope to stay there again if we make it back to Boothbay Harbor.

… Everything I had hoped for and more!
Everything I had hoped for and more! This property was exactly as presented… And more! As every single detail was well thought out and perfect for the eyes and comfort for the body. It was absolutely the perfect place and location for my trip to Boothbay Harbor Maine. I would come again and I would highly recommend it. No expense was spared in the remodel of this adorable studio apartment and two people would be quite comfortable there.

This is my second time responding. My wife and I stayed a week here in late October. The accommodations were terrific and right in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. Quality throughout. Very quiet. Highly recommend it.

Best of Boothbay
The accommodations were exactly as described. Immaculate conditions and central to all things. We will definitely look to book the Coal Shack again. Our dog loved the suggested nature walks at the local preserves. We struggled with the lockbox, but quickly found help when checking in and locked the door placing the key on the table when leaving. Thank you very much for making us feel welcome.

Charming, quiet and beautiful
We had a wonderful stay here this year. Coal shack was the perfect location. It was quiet, charming, beautifully renovated and just overall relaxing. We couldn't get the TV to work but that turned out to be great as we spent most of our time in town or on the deck with the tremendous view. Great place!!!

Perfect location
This was the perfect home base from which to explore the town. The kitchen had everything we needed, although there are lots of options for restaurants nearby, too. We were able to order food for takeout, walk the dog to pick it up, and still have it hot when we got back- that’s how close it is to everything! The deck is amazing, though. Perfect view! We would definitely stay here again! Absolute lovely vacation with our pup!

Once again...the BEST!
This is my 3rd visit to Boothbay Harbor and 3rd time staying at thee Coal Shack. I work my vacation dates year around the availability of the Coal Shack. It is beautifully decorated, has every amenity needed and the location is just perfect. I can't rave enough about this vacation rental. I plan on being back again soon.

Anniversary getaway
The location of this property is amazing. The balcony overlooks the harbour and a pleasant park. We were able to enjoy several hours of relaxing conversations on the spacious deck. This wonderful studio is located in the heart of the shop's and restaurant's we so love and enjoy in Boothbay Harbor. The owners have done an amazing job with upgrades and improvements on this quaint lovely loft style apartment. We will definitely be returning for as many memories as life allows.

Great Place even when there is Rain
The Coal Shack's location in Boothbay Harbor cannot be easily beat. We enjoy early morning sun on the deck. When the rain showed up, we can quickly go to a restaurant or to a shoppe. We noticed the cleanliness and well stock with everything necessary made for a comfortable stay. We did find the lock on the door to be interesting since sometimes it worked fine yet other times it took a little effort to locl=k.

The “coal shack” was a very cozy and comfortable studio unit with a deck that has a view of Boothbay harbor. The unit was comfortably appointed with all we needed. Check in process was easy and communication through process excellent. I would stay here again if back in Boothbay.

This apartment has the perfect view and location for enjoying Boothbay. We were the envy of people walking down the street as we enjoyed the balcony and views. The apartment is beautiful and offers everything you and your dog might need. We were able to walk to activities, shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this property.

Great location , great pet-friendly property
We really enjoyed our stay in Coal Shack . Aside from having the best view of the water from the deck , it has all the things we need and more , especially with our dog in tow . It has extra linens if we need to change , very nice amenities . Easy check in , so great to have your own parking in the business area of boothbay Great customer service too when we had a problem with the microwave in the unit . Will definitely come back !

Unique Studio close to the waterfront.
The Coal Shack was comfortable and the furnishing and decorations were quite unique and tied modern amenities to repurposed items to make the space a neat place to stay.. The only negative was there was no closet or place to store luggage.

Always a Great Stay
This was our second time staying at the Coal Shack and always enjoy ourselves. Perfect location, very friendly and accommodating hosts (who spoiled our dog, Hamilton), with every amenity we need. Even in these difficult times
The property was super clean and ready for our stay. We still enjoyed the location near the heart of Boothbay Habour even though much of our activities were curbed by the COVID-19 restrictions. The only negative for me was that the AC until did leak when the setting was below 70 F. Would gladly stay again next year

You can tell the place is dog friendly. The whole area is. The cottage was quite, pretty clean, few dog hairs, but no smell. Nice comfortable place.

Nice little getaway in the heart of downtown
Property is awesome, clean, well appointed. Pictures are accurate and descriptive. Great getaway for a couple. Would stay there again. The only issue we had was with the check-in process. The property manager sent us instructions on how to enter the property the day before. This included a 10-digit code for the electronic door lock. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find the door is keyed and has no electronic keypad. I'm still not sure how we get a code for a keypad that doesn't exist? We were fortunately able to get in touch with the management company who was able to help us access the key in about 15 minutes. Once we got over the issues with the lock, we had a great time.

Absolutely loved this beautiful little place. Beautifully designed and absolutely perfect for a weekend. The only tricky part is the lock and door despite very good instructions. The high ceilings make this beautiful space feel even roomier. Fully stocked with everything you could possibly need making it even more homey. We walked everywhere and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We love coming coming here.
The Coal Shack is a wonderful place to stay. This is our 3rd year returning here. The Coal Shack is waking distance to downtown. The owners are accommodating and have become our friends. We come this time of year to go to the Festival of Lights. As I am.viewing the sunrise over the harbor I reflect how this place is awesome.! Thank you so much!
