About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
A true Ski In Ski Out cabin, easy street access, located not only slope side but also has a babbling brook that flows along the back side of the cabin! Next to the brook, there is a sitting area with chairs and a fire pit for you to sit and watch skiers in the winter or wildlife the rest of the year. Deer are plentiful and you might have a chipmunk, hedgehog, or bear stroll by to say hello. Active lifestyle and adventure seekers, this is your location! Why is your cabin called the SiSo the "Rock" ? SiSo (pronounced C So) is short for Ski In Ski Out and the "Rock" is because of the massive rock in the back yard and the 30' shear rock walls that are on 2 sides of the cabin.
When you arrive you will find a spacious parking area that will accommodate 4 large vehicles. One flight of stairs and a short walkway that enters on the upper level of the cabin. The Rock has plenty of room to roam. The house has 3 levels with the upper level containing the kitchen, dining room, family room, and a half bath. On the second level you will find the Primary bedroom (1 King) with en-suite bath and private balcony that overlooks our small creek and two additional bedrooms (1 Queen and 1 King) with another full bath. The ground floor has a bunk room, with a full bath and a game room with an arcade grade air hockey table, The house is stocked with 700 thread count sheets and new towels for the comfort of our guests. We have a Keurig coffee maker with traditional coffee and k-cup ability with a variety of K-cups available. We are a family orientated property, with the primary focus on comfort and convenience, perfect for kids and families!
Newer skiers will have more space to refine their skills located right out the back door of the cabin, called Carolina Caribbean. Lift #1 is right out the backdoor and the Beech Mountain Resort Village is a short walk down the slope. Have your family sit on one of the 3 decks and watch the kids play while you enjoy your drink because you are right in the heart of where things are happening!
*The house has a Ring door bell camera at the front entrance. This is mainly to monitor the walk path of snow and trespassers. We also have a camera in the rear of the house to monitor snowfall conditions. For your privacy there are no cameras inside the cabin.
*The house has paved city roads leading to it, that are plowed during the ski season.
* We rent up to 3 weeks maximum at a time...if your booking is automatically accepted we will refund you immediately and advise of us doing so. The VRBO system does not allow for us to set this in place prior to your booking.
***Winter WARNING*** SiSo The Rock receives 80-100 INCHES of snow ANNUALLY! 4X4 or snow chains are highly recommended. We can receive snowfall from OCTOBER - APRIL BEWARE OF SNOW ON WALK PATH AND STEPS. We provide snow melt pellets for the use of our guests.
***Summer WARNING*** SiSo The Rock can be cool in the summer months. We do experience wonderful 70's and 80's in the area, but we can experience rainy, cloudy, cool summer days that you will need an extra layer for! For the warmer days...we have an air conditioner on the top floor and the master bedroom on the 2cnd floor.

The house is fantastic. Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Great access to the ski slopes and the ski room is a wonderful. We had 7 ski/snowboarders and everyone had plenty of room for gear. Also, we love the fire pit for happy hour. My only recommendation would be a couple more chairs around the fire pit. Overall a 5 star house!! See you next year!!
This is the second time we’ve stayed there and it just got better. So comfortable, kitchen fully stocked, kids love it, makes our ski trip so comfortable especially with little kids. The hosts think of everything and answer communication quickly.
Owners were tremendously responsive, easy to work with, and did a great job sharing information about checkin, checkout, and etc…The house is in a perfect location- close to resort and right at ski lifts. Nicely furnished and well maintained interior as well!
Our overall stay was very nice. The cabin is convenient being right on the slopes. Definitely worth staying if you have a big group! The host is also very nice and communicates very well.
What a great place right on the mountain. Had plenty of room for two families and the air hockey table ruled for kids of all ages. We hope to stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at Beech Mountain. The location could not be any more perfect. The views are breathtaking. The kitchen is very well stocked and the beds are extremely comfortable. We will definitely be back!
We stayed with 3 families and everyone had their space. Location is perfect as you can walk or ski right to the lifts. Loved sitting and watching the wildlife on the deck. Definitely going to book again
Had a wonderful stay. This house has the perfect setup for all your winter gear. I love that I can see all the action from the living room couch because I don't like the snow. I just like to watch my children.
We had 10 people staying at this property, two family groups and it was perfect for us. There were plenty of bed, all comfortable, and plenty of space for us to stretch out. The kids occupied the 3rd floor and the adults all had rooms on the second. Our party enjoyed exploring the mountain and we would love to visit again sometime.
Very clean and super comfortable. Very convenient to the ski slope if that is an interest. Easy walk to the ski lodge and associated buildings. Well stocked kitchen, high-end towels and sheets. Plenty of room on each level, nice dining room and common area. Gas fire logs. A very nice property.
I have stayed there twice now and have not been disappointed. Towels and bed linens and pillows are higher-end products. The property is as advertised. Everything for a comfortable stay, including well-stocked kitchen utensils and such. The property is very clean. Very convenient to Beech Mountain restaurants and a short walk to the ski resort. As with most mountain properties in this area there are stairs to navigate from living area to bedrooms, and to get to outside ground level, but the half-bath on living area level is a big help.
We’ve now stayed at Siso The Rock twice and have thoroughly enjoyed both trips! The house is very clean; everyone commented on how well kept the home was, even a teenager! This is the perfect house for a family visiting with multiple generations! The younger crowd can enjoy skiing/boarding with easy access to the slopes while the older crowd can easily watch the skiers from the porches, fire pit or even the couch! The kitchen has everything you would need to cook a nice meal for everyone. I have to mention as this is often not the case for by vacation rentals, the beds are very comfortable! We are looking forward to our next stay at Siso The Rock; its easy access to the slopes, comfortability and cleanliness will keep us coming back!!
This property is all about location. You are feet from the slope directly across from the bottom of the #2 magic carpet with direct access to the quads and double chairs. It has a great view of the base area as along with an entrance area that has boot warmers and ski storage area. The interior is in need of updating and there is little room for storage in the bed rooms. But if you are coming here to ski most of the day and have a great access to the slopes this is a 10.
This was our family's second stay, and this time we brought another family with their two children. Everyone had a blast. The location is unmatched, especially if you have young children. The walk from the base of the mountain to the house is doable for a 4 year old, and is also doable for an adult to carry the 4 year old and their gear :) All the steep-ish walking is in snow so no worries about falling on slick steps. We visited Jan 2-5 and I would not advise these dates (or any holiday) to anyone with young children as there were massive lines for the lifts coupled with frigid weather and snow-making. The resort also ran out of kids rental snowboards. Lines for lift tickets were also absurd (not enough windows open). Our previous trip was in March and the lines were essentially non-existent. You can rent online in advance and then use kiosk so I highly advise that. We ate all meals at the house and it has everything you need to cook and we love how all drawers/cabinets are labeled. If we come back to Beech, we'll definitely rent this home again! 5 stars.
We booked this house last minute after our first rental canceled on us so I didn't have a ton of time to scrutinize this house online, but we were very pleasantly surprised with it in person. The upper level is where the kitchen, den, and dining room is. There is a wrap around deck accessible from the den where you can watch all the action going down on the slopes! I could see my daughter on the bunny hill and husband coming down the mountain while my son napped every afternoon. The middle level has 3 bedrooms and the washer/dryer. The lower level has the bunk room with a set of bunks and a twin bed and in the hallway is another set of bunks. I wouldn't advise the hallway set for younger children as there is no door to close them off so for safety/noise sake maybe put older children there. From the lower level is where you can walk out, cross the bridge over the creek (which also provides wonderful sound!) and then ski down to the first lift or just walk past the lift and onto the main resort grounds. I don't think there is a better house/location than this one! The kitchen had all the pots/pans and spices I needed. There was ample room for seating in the dining room and den. The heat/air situation is a little confusing as there are heaters in individual rooms, but we went during spring break so really only needed a little heat at night.
I would definitely recommend this house to anyone. Oh there's also a firepit and chairs by the creek so bring stuff to make smores!

Family Ski Weekend
Overall the stay was good. We enjoyed ourselves and made some great memories. We did however have some challenges. This property is advertised as Ski-in/Ski-out and this is very misleading along with a lot of the information in the cabin. The property is close to the slopes but you must travel down hill on icy steps across a bridge and then back uphill across rough rocky terrain before making it to the slope. This was very difficult for some in our party and over the weekend we had falls, scrapes and bumps during the travel to and from the slopes back to the house. The other problem was the entrance. The parking lot was not cleared and full of snow and ice. Adjacent parking lots had been cleared and were easy to access. This one was treacherous. Also there were very steep ice and snow covered steps downhill to get to the house where we had to lug all of our luggage and groceries down to get inside the cabin. My 70 year old father actually fell during this time and we had to watch carefully to get everyone else and our belongings inside safely. Once inside it was very clean and accommodating. The internet signal was not working well during the weekend so there was no television but we stayed busy. It also fails to mention that once inside the steps between each floor are very steep and not your average home stairs.. They are tough for kids and older individuals. We paid a huge price for this property for this weekend and we were disappointed in the accessibility
