"This is a small flat on the top floor of a terrace house. Yes you can see the river just past the plumbers merchant yard and the industrial estate on the opposite bank. "Good hotel if you’re looking for somewhere near to Cork city centre for either Cork visits or a base for wider touring of the area. 5-10 minutes walk from the centre and there was parking on site. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was good. We didn’t have other meals there so can’t comment beyond that. Our room was big, comfortable and clean although the bathroom could maybe do with a refit soon… slightly tired compared to the rest of the room. The hotel overall was clean and modern. It was quiet in our room despite the hotel having a lot of guests. Recommended for a short break in Cork."

Belvedere Lodge

"We stayed 3 nights at the Belvedere Lodge. We were a bit put off initially by the busy road right in front, but the Lodge is set back enough that it's not a real issue. Sandra greeted us at the door, and helped us up to the upper floor with our luggage, which wasn't light. The room was spacious, with a nice view of the back garden, which was full of blooming roses. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom very nice as well. The icing on the cake was breakfast. There was always a buffet with cold cuts, cheese, breads, cereal, juices, etc., and tea or coffee. In addition, you could order hot items from the kitchen. On the first morning, we opted for the full Irish breakfast, and it was delicious and highly recommended, at least once. On our 2nd morning, we went a little lighter, and it was still lovely. I think the only drawback is the distance from downtown Cork, but there are multiple buses that stop right in front of the Lodge, or if you have a car, there are parking garages in the city proper. Despite that, I highly recommend this place, and would definitely stay there again."

"A fantastic hotel with truly wonderful staff that go above and beyond in being welcoming and helpful. The hotel, the accommodations and the staff just really brought Cork to life for us. One of the highlights of our trip to Ireland was staying here. Great views of the city and the river. walking distance to anything. Breakfast was amazing as was the outside bar."

"The hotel has charm but is definitely showing its age. The spa was the biggest disappointment — overpriced, poorly delivered, and handled by an inexperienced massage attendant. The windows could use a good clean, and the grounds would benefit from some general tidying to bring the place back to life. On a positive note, breakfast was generous in portion and very well cooked, which was a welcome highlight of the stay."
