This area is the heart of Bertholene, characterised by its traditional stone buildings and narrow streets. It's where you'll find the local boulangerie, small shops, and the mairie. The church, with its distinctive bell tower, is a prominent landmark and often serves as a focal point for village life.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying within the village centre offers a truly authentic experience. You'll be able to enjoy quiet evenings, stroll through the historic streets, and have easy access to local produce for a relaxed holiday.

The best time to visit Bertholene is during the late spring and early autumn months, from May to June and September to October.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding Aveyron countryside and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience when visiting local markets or enjoying the regional cuisine. This timing is superb for couples or solo travellers who appreciate comfortable temperatures for hiking or cycling without the intense summer heat.

Families often find the summer months of July and August appealing due to school holidays. While it's busier and warmer, this is when many local festivals and events take place, offering a lively option.
