"Room was fine. Just thought a few areas were lacking. Pool use with the kids time not communicated well. Ordered out as if I knew what the times were. I just didn't get friendly vibes from certain staff there. Although there were some who were great. Paid to eat in the restaurant. Pricey and but food was nothing special. Breakfast buffet was ok. "

"Stayed at Woodpecker cottage with friends. The place is lovely, was super clean and tidy, and beautifully finished. Instructions for everything left to hand, so we were able to use the log burner and hot tubs without too much faffing. Location is lovely and quiet, we visited a few local places as recommended by the owners. Enjoyed a really chilled weekend. Thank you"

"Lovely hotel and extremely clean. We were in the club house room which is in a separate building from the main hotel. The room was very clean and modern. My only complaint was there were 2 small bottles of water put out for us like most hotels do but they were half full and the seals were broken so were not new. Also they provide fresh milk in a fridge in the reception area which is really nice but the one I had which was well in date was sour so I think the fridge was not cold enough. Also the ice machine was not working. I did mention this to the reception and it was all rectified immediately. Also the hand wash and shower gel bottles in our room were empty but I brought my own so that was fine. I would suggest that housekeeping do a more thorough check on these things in the future as it is little things like this that can let a lovely hotel like this down. We had an evening meal and breakfast and both were delicious and excellent staff. Although we had a few small problems we would definitely stay here again as the standard is very high. "

"Perfect base for visiting the delights of the north west. Blackpool just 30mins away and the Lake District or Lancashire just a little further. However plenty of great places locally so don’t have to travel far. Forest of bowland is a delight!The cottages at Cross keys inn are comfortable, well equipped and very clean. My favourite place to stop in the area"

"Stayed with friends - 4 adults. Very comfortable with lots of space. Bedrooms were amazing, both en-suite. Kitchen/dining/utility area was immaculate and well equipped. Lounge was large and airy with patio doors to a small outside area. Beautiful inside and out and very peaceful. Owner was lovely - left fresh eggs, biscuits etc. We definitely will return and highly recommend"

"Lovely place to stay very peaceful cottage we had was very clean and spacious only downside was going out for the day we were back by mid afternoon as the roads were winding countryside roads no lights you could easily get lost in the dark otherwise it was spot on"

"Second time staying here and it was lovely again. We enjoyed the hot tub and having the robes and slippers for each person is a lovely touch. The house is spotless and has everything you’d need. Beds are comfortable and the location is so peaceful. The only downside is it’s hard to find, we arrived at night so it was very dark and sat nav doesn’t take you directly to the house. We would definitely stay again despite this and just arrive during daylight."
