2/10 Terrible

"To start off there was a sign that said " be back in 15mins. Leave your key in basket" sign was still there next day. Man at front desk seemed irritated. I asked for a king room bottom floor. What I got was a 3rd floor room next to freeway. Never could go to sleep as listened to traffic all night. Hotel phone didn't work so had to use my cell phone to ask for bath towels, kleenex & coffee cups., after 45mins we got thin small bath towels (2) and then 15min later got cups. Never got kleenex. Room seemed freshly painted but floor hadn't been cleaned as I found numerous pills on floor near the bed ( not mine). Shower was missing a door so water came out onto floor. Shower water handle fell off repeatedly when trying to turn on & off. Noticed the window on a ground floor room had been broken and there was glass all over the walkway in front of room. They should eliminate some of the furniture in the room making it easier to move in the room. Upon check out I noticed that the vehicle that was parked in the driveway to hotel belonged to the guy at front desk and was still there. The 15 min sign was still there. I waited about 5 mins and he got out of his car and asked me what I needed. Told him I needed to check out & would like my receipt and he said it would be emailed to me. Im still waiting. I would NEVER recommend this place!!!"

"At first, we got a room facing the train and it was SUPER NOISY at night till 3 AM. They were able to change us to another room the next day, facing the traffic side away from the train, and that was all good. If you are noise-sensitive, please request a room away from the train side. It would be great if they could let ppl know about this situation at check in."

"The room was very large and spacious and I loved the bath robes and we enjoyed having coffee in the room and the sitting area was so nice… The bed was so comfortable and I slept so well, the only thing that we would change is maybe having one softer shorter pillow for our necks. They have a wonderful bar and restaurant in the hotel and we went right away to the bar and then in the morning we had a wonderful breakfast in the restaurant. It’s a beautiful place! And really good food and coffee! The hotel is very conveniently located close to a cute little town area, but also easily accessible to the highway to get to Orinda where we were visiting friends… I highly recommend it and would love to stay there in the future"

"Breakfast staff unavailable to refill water or tell us where to get it since dispenser was not working, no pancake maker, stale whole wheat bread and stale English muffins, nasty dirty eggs w cheese (melted cheese everywhere-not cleaned), coffee maxhine with no beans - so only 1 coffee machine. And when I did find her she said she would take care of it and disappeared again. In 47minutes saw her once. Not happy! The property otherwise was fine, clean, helpful Staff"

"Got to the property early to check in, no rooms were available. Left bags with front desk. Attempted to check in again 15 minutes prior to normal check in time as we had an event to attend. There were still no rooms available. James the front desk employee was unapologetic and did not seem to care that we were being inconvenienced. James said rooms would not be available until past check in time due to full occupancy the night prior. We initially planned getting an uber to our event but because we were unable to check into our room we ended up having to take back our bags and drive to the event. This caused us to have to get ready at the event site. Upon our return to the hotel there was only one working valet and traffic was backed up onto North Main Street. Although the valet gentleman was pleasant and apologetic it was absolute chaos. In addition to this our room was not held even though we made multiple attempts to check in. Therefore, we were placed in what was said to be “the last ‘king’ room available.” This room was not only the smallest and most awkwardly decorated room, the bed size was a queen! Further attempts to get a king room were met with inexcusable justifications from the night crew. In addition to the inhospitable customer service and terrible room, the hotel bar and restaurant were closed! During weekends, there is absolutely no excuse to have your bar/restaurant closed for a majority of the day. All in all, 0/10. Improvements need to be made."

"The Marriott is on a beautiful tree filled property in a convenient location off 680 and behind a shopping area that includes Whole Foods, Target, Peets and many other stores as well as the new shopping area that has Starbucks, Philz and many retailers. Very friendly employees, bright & cheerful lobby. Room was modern, clean, comfortable king size bed, well lit from sliding glass door out to balcony (view of beautiful mature trees), lots of lighting (including next to the firm yet cozy chaise lounge), small refrigerator, TV, good size closet, full length mirror and clean and modern large shower with great shampoo, conditioner & body wash. Friendly M restaurant employees and a delicious full breakfast buffet-great way to start the day. Three elevators for six story hotel was nice so very little waiting."
