The best area to stay in Bathāla is Lakeside, which is the main tourist hub.

Lakeside stretches along the eastern shore of Phewa Lake, offering stunning views of the water and the Annapurna mountain range. The main road, Lakeside Road, is lined with hotels, restaurants, and shops. It's a very walkable area, with easy access to boating activities on the lake and the World Peace Pagoda accessible by boat and a short hike.

Couples will find Lakeside particularly appealing. Its proximity to the lake allows for romantic boat rides, and many hotels offer rooms with lake or mountain views. Evenings can be spent enjoying dinner at one of the many lakeside restaurants, watching the sunset over the Himalayas.

For those looking for a slightly quieter experience while still being close to the action, the southern end of Lakeside, closer to the airport, offers a more relaxed atmosphere. It's still within walking distance of the main strip but provides a bit more tranquillity, often with larger hotels and more expansive grounds.

While there might be occasional pre-monsoon showers towards the end of May, the air is clean, and the views are often spectacular.
