Welcome to Valle Crucis Overlook! Valle Crucis Overlook is a beautiful 3BR cabin, built in 2010, in a tranquil neighborhood and centrally located within a short drive of Valle Crucis, Boone, Sugar Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, or Banner Elk. The house has an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and high windows in the main living area. The living room has exposed timbers, a stacked stone fireplace with gas logs for cozy winter days, and a 60-inch mounted flat-screen TV. The spacious back deck has tremendous views from the Boone area to Tennessee, a gas grill, a pub-style dining table, and two rustic rocking chairs. The front of the home has a covered front porch with swing, two rustic rocking chairs, and a large flagstone patio with an eleven-foot stacked stone fireplace. The patio has a large dining table and chairs. Build a fire and roast marshmallows, enjoy your favorite music on the outdoor speakers, or relax and spend time with your family and friends - this is the perfect spot! The view from the back deck looks out over Valle Crucis across the Boone area to the Rich Mountain Range, which begins with Howards Knob in Boone and runs northwest into Tennessee. In summer, this view is rich and verdant, and the peaks are often snow-covered in winter. The living room has two beautiful leather sofas and a comfortable recliner. The living room opens to the dining and kitchen areas, with a half bath in the main hall. The delightful kitchen has granite countertops and stainless appliances. Thoughtfully stocked by the owners, the kitchen is ready for almost any conceivable cooking activity by guests. The living room looks out to the covered front porch, the outdoor fireplace, and the patio with a swing for lazy days in summer. The location is private near the end of a non-thru street. The master suite has a beautiful view, is on the main floor, and has a king bed and a flat-screen TV. The master bath has double sinks, granite counters, and a slate tile shower. You access the cozy loft by stairs in the living room. The queen bedroom upstairs has a TV. The third bedroom has twin-over-double bunk beds, a flat-screen television with a DVD player, and Xbox Kinect. The upstairs bedrooms share a full bathroom with a combination tub/shower. There is high-speed wifi throughout the property and Hulu streaming with live TV throughout the home. The home has central forced air conditioning for those rare days when A/C is needed here in the mountains, a washer and dryer on the main level, and many other touches provided by the owners for your comfort. \*Access to Valle Crucis Overlook includes 1 1/2 miles of remote, mountainous gravel road. Everything was clean and worked well. The back deck is very spacious and offers amazing views at all times of the day. Very comfy beds, hot water and good water pressure. HVAC worked as it should and the kitchen is better equipped than most rentals. While I brought some of my own kitchen equip, they had everything I needed. The pics on the website are accurate. There is about a mile of gravel road leading to the property. I have an AWD and had no issues. A car can manage in normal/dry conditions but with any significant precipitation traction may be an issue. We definitely enjoyed the well stocked kitchen. The fireplace outdoors was a nice addition however, we were told by the property mgr that we had to pay for a min of 5 days of wood, at a premium price, in order to use it. It turns out, that the owners provide wood for half the price on the honor system, for each time we used it, but we weren't informed of this. It would have been nice as we couldn't use the fireplace each night. The pictures show a hammock on the deck but there wasn't one and I was looking forward to lying in it all week. We all agreed that more chairs on the deck would be nice, as the high ones that go with the high top table aren't comfortable for long periods of time to enjoy the view. We certainly enjoyed the many blankets for being couch potatoes to watch the large tv. And they aren't kidding when they warn you of the steep roads to get there! We’re from Florida, and since our kids have never seen falling snow before, we were hoping to see some, and boy did we get to experience a true “winter wonderland” in the most beautiful, comfortable, fully-supplied (with modern, top-notch amenities) cabin ever! The view (both snowless and leafless trees, as well as the magical snowy panorama) leaves you breathless and renewed, the location is just right - not too far from the bigger towns (Boone, Banner Elk) and not too close to neighbors, so serene and beautifully landscaped. Inside, the inviting soaring fireplace keeps you cozy and together with the family. Kids loved the bunk beds and took over the 2nd FL with the lovely nook. We loved every moment there! Close to ski slopes too (30-45min away), and the street in front was perfect for an impromptu sledding! Even in blizzard weather, we just wanted to stay there forever! The interior is very cozy, and the view from the back deck is a treat. Be sure to check what time sunrise happens and wake up at least once for it, since the views face roughly east. The grill was as clean as any I've seen at a rental, and everything in the kitchen was in working order. I also appreciate the linens, dish towels, fresh sponge and dish soap. They also provide nice bath soap and shampoo ,which is a nice touch not all rentals provide. And the checkout steps were more reasonable than some rentals, especially with regard to the linens and the trash. Overall, I'd recommend it! ##### Jonathan D. The view is exactly as described! Beautiful! The cabin is nice and clean and updated. We cooked here multiple times. The only thing I would recommend if you have little ones is to bring a baby gate as there were none on the property. We bought some from Walmart and returned them. My kids loved the bunk bed upstairs and we all loved hanging out in the living room:kitchen area as a family. Owner is extremely responsive as well. ##### Jessica A. Great views off the back deck and an awesome fireplace in the front yard. House is well kept. The kitchen contains all the utensils you need, just bring your groceries. Gas grill on the back deck. Smart TVs to use your TV apps for entertainment. Gas logs in the living room are nice and heat quickly. Be sure to get what you need before going up the mountain to the cabin. It's a ways back and forth for groceries or necessities. Recommend 4-wheel drive as some of the access road is not paved and is on a steep grade. Would make for difficult travel in bad weather. We enjoyed the privacy, off the beaten path. Would recommend and would stay again. ##### Brad C.
