The community rec room, pool and hot tub were only a minute walk which was a great escape. Hope to come back soon." - Derrick Living Room: The Living area has a cozy propane fireplace with a convenient timer, a sofa chair and couch for extra seating, games including a card games, tick tac toe, yahtzee and some puzzles for the kids. Dining Room: The attached dining room has a large farmhouse table that seats 8 adults. Kitchen: The kitchen is fully labeled with all your basic needs including, keurig and drip coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, dishware and utensils(kids dishes included), pots and pans, packaged condiments - Everything to get you started and make it feel like home! The Master: This room(Bears Den) has a queen bed, smart TV, attached balcony, closet and dresser with plenty of storage for clothes, pedestal fan. Bedroom 2: The 2nd bedroom (Cuckoos Nest) has a queen bed, smart TV, closet and dresser with plenty of storage for clothes, box fan. Bedroom 3: The 3rd bedroom (Pigs in a Blanket) has a Twin over full bunk with a full trundle, smart TV, closet and dresser with plenty of storage for clothes, pedestal fan, kids sleds for winter season. Large Rear Deck has multiple chairs and dining table to enjoy the view and fresh air. Condo includes all linens and towels, basic toiletries including shampoo/soaps to get you started, starter pack of tea/coffee. Indoor Heated Pool/Rec Room: Shared by only 15 owners, we have one of only two swimming pools on Beech Mountain! My daughter made friends with the local deer. She literally had deer eating out of her hands. We were located next to the games and pool and hot tub. All of which we enjoyed. Kids enjoyed the deer encounters, bunk beds and games. Had to pay $1 to play the air hockey and games in the common room which was surprising but did not have anything to do with host. But gas Fireplace fumes = headache We choose this chalet because of gas fireplace. However the chimney isn’t vented. The downstairs immediately filled with fumes from the propane/natural gas; despite opening the window a crack for cross ventilation. (We have a ventless fireplace at home. We know how they work.) Immediate headaches and had to shut off the beautiful fireplace. And prop open the doors to air it out. The driveway into the neighbor was not treated for ice. Despite having a 4x4 truck, we were fishtailing & then slide down the hill backwards. We had to park on road below the cabin, hike up, the snow banked hill, carrying all our gear, groceries & luggage. Exhausting. Kids were tired. We were all starving, cold, wet & frustrated! Other than these 2 incidents. The chalet was very nice, clean. Large table perfect for meals. The kitchen has plenty of counter space. Cupboards are well stocked. Two large soup pots were perfect.
