Perfect family get away, wonderful view of Penobscot Bay, sleeps 8.

Baycrest Cottage is tucked in amongst the evergreens, oaks and birches, and yet has a wonderful open view of Penobscot Bay. One of our guests commented, "... waiting for the lobster boats in the morning, exploring tidal pools at low tide, BBQ's, and stargazing at night! Your home is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy all that Maine offers." Read on to see how Baycrest Cottage could be just right for your family vacation in Maine.

On the first floor our cottage includes: an inviting living room with wood burning fireplace, a beautiful newly-renovated kitchen with a spacious dining area, and a newly-renovated full bath. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bunk room, all under open eves. The first bedroom has two twin beds that can be put together as a king-sized bed at your request. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The bunk room includes 2 bunk beds and a beautiful view from the adjacent balcony. Our cottage is a cozy and comfortable place to get away from it all, yet it has all the amenities. A fully-equipped kitchen: from coffee maker to lobster pot and everything in-between will make you feel right at home. Other amenities include: DirectTV, internet connection, stereo, washer and drier, an outdoor gas grill, and an outdoor shower.

Enjoy the view of the Penobscot Bay from the double hammock or the Adirondack chairs. A short walk down the wooded path will bring you to a private beach. Also on our property is a CedarWorks play set - perfect for young guests. Feel free to enjoy the board games, puzzles, and the many books for children and adults while visiting Baycrest Cottage.

Stockton Harbor, with public boat access, is just five minutes from the cottage. Twenty minutes away is the nearby town of Belfast which offers a variety of shops, restaurants, a movie theater and even a few art galleries. An easy day trip from Baycrest Cottage could include Acadia National Park or Bar Harbor for more shopping or whale watching. The popular town of Camden is less than one hour away.

Baycrest Cottage is a wonderful home away from home for your family's Maine vacation - "The Way Life Should Be."

Penobscot Bay
Baycrest Cottage has privacy. The outdoor shower in the cool October morning air is brilliant and the water is luxurious. The quiet road loops around about 7 or 8 miles and the beautiful Fort Point Lighthouse welcomes you about half way, perfect for a morning walk or run. The kitchen is not fancy, but well equipped with quality cooking tools. I enjoyed the sharp knives, large wood cutting board and the gas stove. You can make anything in this kitchen. It’s a wonderful working kitchen. We also enjoyed the fireplace at night for warmth and ambiance and sometimes in the morning to pull the chill from the house. The cottage sits beneath a dome of stars, in a forest rich with wildlife. It’s set up for a family with children. The many games and books, the swing set in the woods, the bay front and woods to explore, but also the beds are cozy and comfortable and clean. It’s just so sweet for children with adorable bunk beds and warm blankets. The TV hooks up to a laptop so you can access your own online accounts, in our case Netflix, but it does have direct TV. The wifi is strong. Your hosts here are truly hosting. You get the sense that they are thinking of your well being at every turn. I have crisscrossed the continent staying in many private places and this is one of my top personal favorites. Nearby are gorgeous little towns, museums, antiques, books, boats and arts.

Exactly what we needed.
This place was perfect for our family's vacation! The house was immaculate and wonderfully appointed with nice cookware, cutlery, and linens. Having rented several places in my life, this is no small feature for a family that loves to cook. Gary (the property manager), was timely, very friendly and helpful with the layout and info on local points of interest. The small play area tucked into the woods was perfect for our small children and we had hours of fun combing the rocky beaches. The location was very secluded, quiet, and beautiful, a perfect cross of comfort and wilderness. We saw eagles, osprey, seals, loons, as well as schools of mackerel and menhaden. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away and relax without hesitation.

Great spot, house has everything
To say this home is well-equipped would be an understatement. We enjoyed all the books, maps, and high-quality cookware. There is lots of space to explore in the woods and along the shore. Close to everything that you would want to see in the central Coast.

Cozy cottage, great water access, amazing views
We have already booked for a second trip, returning to Baycrest Cottage next summer. The cottage met all our vacation requirements: a comfortable home, large outdoor space, water access, beautiful views and surrounding area with much to explore. My family of 4 adults and 4 kids comfortably stayed in the cottage. My favorite parts are the path to the water, the hammock in the woods and the picnic tables for meals, books for enjoying and wildlife viewing.

Baycrest cottage, clean, inviting, relaxing
The cottage was more than we expected. A very private place where you can relax and enjoy the view of the bay. Up to date kitchen, fireplace, very well maintained property. We can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful secluded spot with great views and access to a deserted rocky beach.
I stayed here with my wife, 2 year old daughter and her grandmother for 8 summer nights. We had a great stay at this quiet cottage in the woods. There is a jungle gym hidden down the wooded path to the beach both of which my daughter loved. The house was spotless, sheets were nice, pillows soft, there was detergent for the wash; all the small things you don't get with most rentals was already in stock. This was also the most well equipped kitchen of any house we've rented, usually I'm lucky to have a sharp knife but in this case all the cookware, utensils etc were of good quality. I would just want to warn any parents looking for some "private time" in the bedroom, you'll want to make sure you're home alone as all the bedrooms are close together. I don't think there's anything misleading in the ad, but it's worth mentioning. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet private secluded place to be with nature and family, and make sure to get down to the beach at low tide to explore the tide pools.

A hidden gem
The cottage offers many amenities and lots of comfort. The moment we arrived we were relaxed. The private beach, just a short walk away, is great for collecting seashells and enjoying the brisk waters of Maine. The cottage itself is perfectly set to view (and listen to) the water and passing boats. Either outside or inside - you always have that stunning view! The cottage is very clean, nicely updated, and has everything you could possibly need while you are away. The sleeping quarters are perfect, very comfortable and the bed linens are quite cozy. Born and raised in Maine, but now living away, this place was exactly what I was looking for for my family. It offers peace and quiet, privacy and easy access to the beauty of Maine. The owner is kind and welcoming, and has established a truly beautiful home away from home. It was hard to leave, but we will look forward to returning!
